This was listed as a "Hefeweizen" on the board.

A: Pours a muddy brownish orange color that reminds me of apple cider. Provides a thick tight two finger foam head. THere is more than ample lacing.

S: Lots of cloves and spice hit the nose first. There is an ample amount of banana and bubble gum. This is quite inviting.

T: Starts off with a nice wheat fand caramel lavor on the front end. In the middle there is a lot of bubble gum, banana, clove and spices. On the back end there is a raspberry tartness. A very interesting combination that works well.

M: A nice medium bodied beer that leaves a dry tart flavor on the palate.

O: This was an interesting brew. I have never expereiend a red hefeweizen. I certainly enjoyed it and hope they brew this again.

Tall weizen glass full of a rich auburn red-colored wheat beer. Very hazy, but not terribly cloudy. No room for the head to sit. Different look.

Aromas of dark wheat, clove, dark fruits, tart banana, rum raisin, booze, and bubble gum. Has hints of lemony citrus and yeast muck.

Bitter for a hefe. Boozy, too. Picking up a bit of rye to go along with the wheat. Super clove bomb with added dry lemon and tart tropical citrus. Bubble gum, raisin, toastiness, black cherry, and Bosc pear skin. Not very sweet. Hop bitterness is strangely in-play here. Herbal and a little earthy.

Body is round, but short of creamy. Carbonation is even-tempered. Tries to throw off a pushy alcohol presence. Not your typical summer weizen.

Likeable brew. I much prefer Goggle Fogger, but Autumn Sunset is worthy of tasting for yourself.
