16oz draft at the Pittsburgh location poured into a pint glass:

Look: Poured a golden orange color with about an inch of head. Lacing is present throughout consumption of this beverage.

Smell: Huges notes of citrus and grapefruit and some hints of pine. Smells amazing!

Taste: Tons of citrus and grapefruit notes up front. Also some tropical fruits. Some small hints of pine in here as well along with some malt backbone.

Feel: Medium bodied. Very crisp and refreshing on this hot day.

Overall: This might be the best session IPA I have had to date. This beer runs circles around Slow Ride, Steady Rollin, etc. Fat Heads never disappoints with their hoppy offerings and this one does not either. I would purchase this one again and I may head out and get a 12 pack soon! Very well done!

32 oz growler purchased at Trenton Road Take Out in Levittown, PA.
Poured into a shaker pint.

Appearance
Blonde with a short white head. Excellent clarity with light carbonation.

Nose
Candied orange, papaya, candy sugar, honey, and grapefruit.

Taste
Candied orange, grapefruit zest, and papaya. Light honey and candy sugar maltiness. Finishes with some light pine and dankness.

Mouthfeel
Light bodied, crisp, clean, and refreshing with a light bitterness.

Overall
Big flavor, low abv. One of the better session IPAs that I've had. Comparable to Daisy Cutter Pale Ale.

I'm a sucker for the name. Having gotten into the Grateful Dead not a year ago, when I saw this, well... Like the Zappa releases from Lagunitas.. Those were some great beers. So, this must be the same right? It was pricey in a state where ya gotta buy a case, so when I came home to Clevo, I bought one to try.

Poured a bit on the murky dark orange side with little lace and head. Smells of grapefruit and orange and a bit of sweet. Went down with only hints of bitter. Slight foam formed. A bigger swig produced the bitter I was expecting, but balanced and light.

There is tar, grapefruit and orange. Dry and crisp. There is a candy like ending. Dare I say this was a refreshing IPA? Session? They nailed that one. With all the flavor and a low APV... It's a treat.

Appearance: Copper golden color with a semi frothy one finger off white head

Smell: Bright citrus, pine, tropical, grassy, honey biscuit malt

Taste: Zesty citrus (lemon, grapefruit, orange), pine, grassy, bitter. Slight pale malt, but could use more

Mouthfeel: Heavy light body; Smooth with a moderately bitter finish

Overall: Someone please tell me the difference between a pale ale and a session ipa. Anyways, I prefer this over Founders All Day and Stone's Go To. Its light and has plenty of citrus hops but not overly so and bitter like Go To or too malty like All Day. They found a nice balance with this one just like Head Hunter. It also helps that I usually get Fat Head's beers within a week or two of bottling. Between this, Head Hunter, and JUJU, they're amongst the leading breweries in the world when it comes to IPAs! However, I think $12 a six pack is a little steep for a session ipa, and may as well grab Head Hunter over this every time.

Poured a golden orange body with minimal head and no lace. Hoppy aroma with minimal malts noticeable as well. Smooth body with biting hop bitterness and a minimal sweetness and clean finish.

A: Pours a hazy yellow-amber with a white 2 finger head. There's a good bit carbonation. I don't know if the beer is supposed to have small floating specks... but I will assume it is. All in all, looks like an average IPA.

S: Smooth and sweet biscuits. Holds hints of pineapple and orange in the hop citrus.

T: Drinks like a pale ale. Super smooth and crisp with a great blend of sweet malt and mild hop citrus. There are also some notes of fresh pine. It finishes in a touch of bitterness. Absolutely awesome.

M: Awesome as well. Really crisp and smooth. It has a light-medium body and is balanced and well rounded. The alcohol is almost invisible.

O: I was really surprised by this beer. It drinks a lot like a pale ale and is super smooth and session-able. The flavor is mild for an IPA, but it still packs its own punch. Will definitely get again. Check this one out!

-spiegelau ipa glass. Bot. 03.29.17. consumed 11.08.17.

A: Light rustic orange with a good clarity shows a fairly strong rate of effervesce rising at a fast rate. Creamy thick porridge cream capping provides a sticky head that laces well on the vessel.

S: Grapefruit pulp is fresh, juicy and tart along with lemons with a higher then average awareness for a session style label. Soft lemon tea counters with toasty grains and light citrus. Age may have been a factor in strength, but the overall combination was still good.

T: Floral grapefruit hops have a decent citrus zing, lemonade style quench with some tart and orange like tropical flavors. Toasty grains brings a soft dryness, bringing a nice malt awareness with tart lemons on the finish. Some wet and juicy hops, complimentary tropical notes.

M: Slick and juicy hops give a slippery texture agaisnt a good malt base with a solid amount of carbonation.

O: A nice show of hops for a session style label. Toasted grain depth, fresh, wet like citrusy hops linger long after bottling date, showing little wear and tear with a good drink-ability rate. Juicy flavor sure to quench that thirst for hops and lemonade tartness on a hot summer day. Refreshing good repeat factor.
