look: 3.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.75

Clear golden ale, topped by a modest white head. Good retention and tons of lacing.

Bright, juicy aroma with a touch of dank herbs; Citra immediately comes to mind. A touch of floral, wildflower honey as it opens up.

Big bright juicy hop flavors up front, with a strong dank profile for the second half. Malts make a very light, grainy appearance.

Lively but watery feel, typical of "session" IPAs.

As far as low ABV IPAs go, this is pretty good. The hops are definitely showcased. I much prefer a beer with far more heft and more malt balance, personally.

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/2 inch head of a white color. Great retention and decent lacing. Smells of sweet malt, alcohol, hops, hint of caramel malt, and piney hops. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of alcohol, citrus hops, slight piney hops, sweet malt, and caramel malt. Overall, good appearance, decent aroma, good feel, decent body, and good complexity.

Description: Bright, light golden color. Clear without much discernible head. Piney smell but also some malty sweetness and fruit. Overall, pretty subtle aroma. Taste is predominantly bitter and hoppy but not overwhelmingly so; about what I expect from a session IPA. Like the smell, has a touch of sweetness. Feel is sort standard, unexciting, "medium".

Suggested food pairing: A burger from the grill

If you like this beer then you should also try: All Day IPA

Overall: 3.75 (This beer is good but I would not likely drink it again) Not necessarily a great IPA, but pretty decent for a session IPA. Not one that I'd advise tracking down or going out of your way to have.

Amazing sessions IPA. My go to for a session beer. Thin feel to the mouth, but that's expected for a sessions IPA. Complex hop profile for a session ale with strong floral tones, grapefruit, and good bitterness. I rate all session IPAs against this beer and all have fallen short. At under 5% alcohol the taste is amazing and you can drink up without worrying about being a complete mess.

Typical golden amber brass look. Some light head. Citrussy hop smell is there. Tasty. Actually can perceive the different aspects spoken about on the bottle. Which is sometimes not the case. Really dont like the feel: its great up front and on the pallet but has a poor lingering property. Overall would buy again. Hopefully get to try draft next time.

look: 4.25 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4

Appearance: Pours a deep amber, cloudy with lots of sediment chunks. Thick 1.5" light tan head, foamy. Outstanding lacing and retention.

Aroma: BIG citrus & resinous aroma.

Taste: Light, dry arrival. slight hint of some malt, like a shadow of malt, across mid-palate. Firm hop bite, string bitterness at the end.

Mouthfeel: Light & clean. Lighter than most APAs; mild but present effervescence.

Overall: No doubt, this is a hoppy beer; but it is not overpowering or unpleasant. If it is out of balance, it is in a good way.

Bottled 06/28/14 at 40 degrees into snifter
Aroma of flowers
Head average (3.5 cm), white, frothy, rapidly diminishing to 4 mm ring and broken layer
Lacing very good- wide thick rings of small bubbles
Body light yellow, hazy
Flavor begins bitter with a flowery perfume taste. This dies quickly and only the bitterness remains. No alcohol, no malt, no diacetyl.
Palate light to medium, watery, lively carbonation

This meets the criteria for an American IPA. I personally do not care for the flowery aroma and flavor.

Bottle > Sensory Pils Glass

A - Light gold, murky with yeast floating around, one finger of soapy white head, medium lacing
S - Crisp floral grassy aroma, light lemon, pineapple. Has a decent dankness to it.
T - Super grassy and floral, very dank as well, light crisp apple and citrus zest. Good flavor.
M - Light, refreshing, definitely sessionable.
O - Good session, fresh and very grassy and floral.

Smell - Very nice hop aroma. Citrus and tropical fruits. Light cracker malt.

Taste - Citrus hops. Lightly sweet pale malts. A little bit of cracker. Very low bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Crisp. Medium light. Well carbonated.

Overall - Delicious session. I hope this is around all the time.

12 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a teku glass

A - It is amber with golden highlights. It is topped with an inch of off-white head.

S - I get some dank citrus.

T - I taste fresh, dank hops. There is plenty of citrus, too.

M - Watery

O - It has good flavor. I am just turned off by the watery mouthfeel of the session IPA's.

A: Nice light orange color, a finger of head. Laced the glass really nicely.
S: Pine, tropical fruit, little bit of herbal aromas, bready malts
T: Followed the nose really well, little bit of bitterness of upfront followed by tropical fruits and a nice sweet finish
M: Light mouthfeel, but not watery. Enough carbonation for a slight bite. Finishes up dry.
O: Great session IPA. Lighter on the IPA spectrum but still extremely flavorful and tasty. Could definitely crush a few of these.

Consumed 12/18/15

A: Golden light orange with some light copper - pours nicely clear - medium sized white head, fades to a few wisps, maintains a medium collar, leaves streaks and spots of lacing

S: Bright hops with some crisp citrus - tangerine, orange, and grapefruit zest - floral, decidedly flowery citrus - light touch of pine - some hints of stone fruit and tropical fruits - light, pale malts at the base

T: Nicely hoppy and nicely light - orange and tangerine - mostly citrus zest, but some citrus juice and oil as well - light pine, grass, and herbal notes - faintly tropical, like an aftertaste of fruit juice - crisp, dry bitterness - light pale malts and just a touch of caramel malts, minimal sweetness

M: Medium to light body, mostly crisp and clean, some lingering hoppy oils, very refreshing otherwise

O: Freak out in a Sunshine Daydream (oh yeah)

If I had to summarize this in one sentence, I would say that this tastes like a mild version of Fat Head's Hop Hunter. The citrus and oily citrus elements are similar enough. Anyway, this is a great session IPA. I've been spoiled by some others coming out of New England, but if I'm ever in Ohio again, I would grab another 6 pack of this.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle: bright and brassy, clear golden color with a quickly receding white-head. A hard to read date was stamped on the glass of bottle.

The aroma was very pungent, bittersweet tropical fruit with a hint of pine.

This is another excellent session IPA, perhaps the best, as far as the overall balance of flavors. The flavor begins with a sharp, but smooth citrusy bitterness that lingers on the palate before dissipating, leaving a nice malt on the tongue. Not hugely complex, this is an ideal hot weather ale that remains interesting sip after sip.

Another great Ohio offering.

Thanks to fiver29 for yet another lovely box of beer, this one stuffed with a bunch of Fat Head's hops, which I always covet. 22 oz. bottle split with, well, no one, as usual for this brewery. I don't play well with others.

The pour is a light filtered orange, & it has carbonation. Nose is all citrus with a foreshadowing of lashing-out bitterness. Not bad.

Sunshine Daydream tastes like the Son of Head Hunter. Tsunami of House-level bitterness greets the tongue & pummels the palate. Middle is akin to a Fruit of the Loom commercial, with mango, orange, citrus, & those fruit-guys you can't see in the background. I am gulping this, which I suppose how a session IPA should be treated.

These guys know what to do with hops. Too many low ABV beers are colorless & could easily be confused with slightly altered well water - not this one. One of the better 'session' beers out there & a very good beer.

Nicely done session IPA. Bright fruity citrus nose and very refreshing. Definitely has an above average hop profile for this style. But of course it does- It's Fat Heads!

It's nice to see Fat Head's coming into Toledo, at least at The Attic.

The color is a clear bright orange. A tight head grows about a finger tall and takes time to fade but never fading much. Pretty plentiful patchy lacing remains on the glass.
There's plenty of citrus in this beer, going both somewhat in the juicier sense as well as some rind/zest. It mixes with floral hops and a bit of pine. Just enough malts to keep it hop-forward but not abrasive give a bit of breadiness and make it nicely balanced. Herbal character and a touch of pith make their way into a mostly dry finish that lingers a bit.
The body is medium with a active carbonation. Smoothness and crispness are about even, both at a good keel, and some dryness pulls out into the finish.

Sunshine Daydream Session IPA from Fat Heads Brewery & Saloon. Another recommendation by the knowledgeable fellow employed at Rt. 62 Butts and Brews in Stark County,OH. Poured from the bottle into a glass, this brew's got a minimal head that disappears in a flash. Clear golden straw body.

Smells like the fruits mentioned on the label. Also a fair amount of hop aromas. This really has got a summer vibe going on.

The IPA hop bitterness is certainly there, along with small hints of the fruits.

Mouthfeel is clean and dry.

Overall a 4 for Sunshine Daydream Session IPA from Fat Heads Brewery & Saloon. I really dig the tropical theme going on here. They pulled off a killer brew here. I will buy this brew again!

Pours a clean orange-ish to yellow color with an off white head. In the aroma, dryer orange citrus rinds. In the taste, dry pine to a an orange citrus rind, quite mellow, and a touch watery. A small hop bite to smoothness, with a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a dry cirtusy pine hop in the aftertaste. An all day IPA, nice hop presence, a bit thin, but still enjoyable.

Poured into a shaker pint.

Appearance
Blonde with a short white head. Excellent clarity with light carbonation.

Nose
Candied orange, papaya, candy sugar, honey, and grapefruit.

Taste
Candied orange, grapefruit zest, and papaya. Light honey and candy sugar maltiness. Finishes with some light pine and dankness.

Mouthfeel
Light bodied, crisp, clean, and refreshing with a light bitterness.

Overall
Big flavor, low abv. One of the better session IPAs that I've had. Comparable to Daisy Cutter Pale Ale.

Poured from a growler into a pint glass
A: Pure orange, crystal clear with a one-finger head
S: Citrus, pine and tropical fruit
T: Matches the nose; rather bitter
M: Light-medium bodied, has a nice up-front bite but not much of a finish
O: With all of the session IPAs hitting the market this isn't at the tip top of my list but is quite close, definitely recommended

Citra all up in your face; and mouth. Nose on this one straight off the pour is great. Flavor is great too. Bright citrus that are sharply defined. Though possibly a bit too much so. Seems just a bit too bright on the citrus really. But I still like it. Smooth feel, if not thin really. A good session ipa. Better than a lot of the other stuff out there. The only detractor is the feel of it.

Had this on 2012-06-18 in North Olmsted, OH at the brew pub (from tasting notes)

A - Clear gold with a 1/2-finger white head and mild lacing.

S - Mild pineapple, hop floral, light citrus. Mild aroma. (food odors present)

T - Citrus, pineapple, grass, hop tang. Dries nicely with a fine and lingering citrus bitterness that almost lasts as long as Head Hunter

M - Light body and medium carbonation. Crisp and refreshing.

O - A great flavor for a low ABV brew. I'd have one just about every day if it were available here in PA!

Aroma is floral, resiny, dank, and flecked with notes of grapefruit, tangerine, and mango. Fairly complex. Fruity and dank hops are in balance, dominating the aroma.

Flavor is more resiny at the base, with a light toasted malt backbone and a moderately bitter finish. Dank cannabis, grapefruit, and tangerine rule the profile. Nice balance of bittering and flavoring hops.
