Pours a copper gold without much of a head. Smell is pretty sweet & tropical - lots of citra - and reminded me a bit of Hop JuJu. Taste is what you'd imagine - grapefruit juice, some pine & a little burnt sugar - but it wasn't too abrasive with the bitterness. It struggles to stand out - even against fat head's other impressive IPAs - but it's still a very good beer.

On tap at Wine Spot, Cleveland Heights. $18 for a 64oz growler; $1 more then the brewery price.

Clear, yellow-orange elixir poured into a pint glass. One-finger, bright, white head with tiny compact bubbles. Nice steady 3mm rim of foam covers all as the tasting proceeds.

Oranges, tangerines, mango, kiwi, pineapple heavy citrus aroma that explodes from the first pour.

Though this is billed as a show case for Mosaic HBC369 hops, there is also a hefty dose of Simcoe and the combo provide a special mix of tropical fruits (see above) plus a really nice smooth bitterness of grapefruit and pine that will satisfy any hophead.

Medium body, nicely carbonated, smooth from front to back with the alcohol well hidden. Too easy to crush a few pints, savoring the huge hop profile but very little heat.

Feel fortunate to have this available in my backyard. One of the finest all around DIPAs.

On tap

Pours clear golden color with a small creamy white head. Smells of tropical and citrus hop, berries, bready malt. Tastes of fruity tropical and citrus hops; mango, guava, red berries, pineapple. Slightly malty finish. Medium body and carbonation, creamy mouthfeel and finish. Nice and fruity throughout

IPA pine water. Lots of grapefruit, biscuity sweetness, medium bitterness. Leans a bit juicy, some herbs and chive. Smooth brew for sure, although not as strong as some of the other IPAs I had at the brewery.

Went to the PDX taproom looking for a growler of Semper FiPA, or Head Hunter as a 2nd choice....neither one of 'em available, and not even in the 'on deck' list. Seriously ?! Ended up getting this....

Pretty good. Pours orange, not much head (growler draft will do that), fruity nose, hides the alc. well.

Simcoe and Citra

Not what I expected from the hop bill - Simcoe acting tropical and Citra leaning more lychee than cat. But it’s the orange Swedish fish thing from two hops not known for orange that’s really confusing me. But juicy, light, not hot or bitter (in spite of 79 IBUs!,) easy sipping - all the good new school qualities - so what does it matter if it’s so yummy? 4.25
