A - Poured dark brown with a foamy off white head.
S - Chocolate malts and coffee
T - Bittersweet with a burnt brown sugar and vanilla and more coffee and roast.
M - Medium body and lighter then expected. A creamy finish.
O - A worthwhile try but nothing special.

Poured from a bottle into a Founders snifter. The pour is dark, not quite black, with mahogany highlights and sports a nice big rocky tan head that quickly dissipates and leaves a nice lacing behind. I get some roasty aromas and a faint hint of vanilla on the nose. It's not the sweet, creamy vanilla note I was hoping for. It's more of a grassy, flowery kind of vanilla.

Medium body and a thinner feel than I was hoping for. A moderate malty sweetness up front tempered by some roasty bitterness and some vanilla notes. I don't get any chocolate. This beer gets much, much better as it warms, both in flavor and feel. The roastiness never dominates and is well-tempered by the vanilla sweetness.

To be fair, this is not an ``imperial'' stout. It's a solid, easy-drinking stout beer, but it probably doesn't have enough flavor to appeal to BAs looking for a massive, intense beer-drinking experience. If you're looking for a big beer with a luscious feel and tons of flavor, look elsewhere. That said, there's not enough here to merit a second purchase of this beer.

The head is light mocha color over a deep, rich brown body. Leaves a froth and a good ring on the top, and lacing is good.

Chocolate, vanilla and caramel, with vanilla being the strongest aroma.

Taste is a vague chocolate and vanilla.

I have to knock the mouthfeel. It isn't creamy enough. This beer has a medium body, but no stick, no real creaminess. It might be better with nitro...

Poured into a Dogdish signature snifter. No freshness date.

A- Pours a 99% opaque black color with a massive three finger dark tan head that retains a while before making its way down to a 1/4 inch head. A frothy ring of lacing is left behind on the glass.

S- Sweet milk chocolate aroma with some vanilla and caramel.

T- Roasted malt, some chocolate and a slight glassy taste. Goes down easy.

M- The body's on the thinner side and there's medium-high carbonation which is a bit too much for this style IMO.

O- Kind of a letdown. Was hoping for more chocolate and less bubbles.

Got a bad beer. Way over carbonated, took 15 minutes to settle down. Strong metallic money scent. Predominant in the taste as well. Seems like there is a nice bitter dark chocolate taste in there, but well hidden behind the metal. Have one more, hopefully it's better.

I guess this is an appropriate beer for NFL draft night. Hopeful anticipation followed by a let down from a usually great Cleveland brewery. The Cleveland Browns of stouts.
