I came in out of town to Vegas and had to check out the homebrew scene. This shop is the only one in town! I popped in and wandered around, nice size store with the core basics. No big bin, not the hugest selection but pretty solid. The shop is run by a guy named Steve who will go over anything and everything with anyone. I personally spent an hour hanging out in the shop.
The shop is limited because of state and city regulations but it is the only place around and the prices are good! Steve is trying to keep the prices reasonable even though he knows he is the only game in town, and who the hell wants to pay shipping from online vendors?
Store is clean, Steve is knowledgeable, honest, and if you want to homebrew in Vegas this seems to be the place. I think Vegas could support a great beer scene, and props to anyone trying to homebrew in extreme Vegas weather!

A few friends and I got into homebrew and Steve at Vegas Homebrew helped us out quite a bit. He spent a long time going over every piece of equipment that we would need and how to go about brewing our first beer.

His store is very neatly kept with just about everything you need to get into brewing beer. His prices are very reasonable and his knowledge and friendly attitude make you feel very comfortable in asking him questions about how to brew the perfect beer.

If you are doing homebrew in Las Vegas, I can't imagine a better place than Vegas Homebrew to get started and get going.

Vegas Homebrew is, at least currently, the only game in town. When I was trying to get into homebrewing last year, there wasn't a local store available, so I was forced to order everything online and wait for it to show up. And wait. Then wait a little more. And when it was brew day and I found out that I was missing Ingredient X, guess what? I had the joy of waiting some more.

Back in November, Steve at Vegas Homebrew opened his store. It's a small operation, with a location that's easy to miss if you're not paying attention. Once you get there, you notice that Steve keeps a clean shop. Bottles are on the right, most heavy equipment and sanitizers are on the left. The back left is the grain section (and he will mill it for you, if you'd like) and the back right is the fridge where he keeps the yeast and hops.

All in all, the selection is not huge, but I have never come away wanting. When I wanted to do a "big beer" for my next batch, he had a recipe he personally enjoyed as well as all the components on hand to make it. If you find yourself short on something, or just want a more personal experience than you'll get online, go see Steve at Vegas Homebrew. He'll take care of you.
