Flashback to forty years ago. A young lad of seven goes to a birthday party at Green Valley Dairy and revels in the jungle motif of the dairy bar's party room.
Now jump forward to the present day. I'm not sure there's anything here to celebrate in the building's newest incarnation, but it is a notch above your standard South Jersey offering, faint praise though that may be.

First, it's big, which is a blessing on the weekend. Second, the outdoor bar, while ample and fetching enough, suffers from a pitiful shadow of the indoor beer selection, and holds the typical cadre of poser wannabes in its clientèle. And third, on live music nights, it is WAY too effing loud. Still, the long, continuous barback is cobbled together from three distinct entities, and it has a nice look about it.
You get closest to the best selection of beers by walking in and going to the farthest left bar section.
But when all's said and done, the size and moderate sterility work against any real ambiance.

Quality is good, with clean glassware and beer that's cold but not insufferably so. The place itself boasts good hygiene, including the restrooms.

Service is supplied with a smile, but beware if you're expecting much help regarding selecting a beer. I'll assume you know what you want when you walk in, so it's forgivable, but it's still a shame, if expected. That said, the servers do know what's on tap, are quick and happy to attend, and add to experience, something generally too rare.

The beer selection is good for the area. Smuttynose, DFH, Allagash, Stone, Weyerbacher, Victory, Yards, PBC, Troegs, Avery, and others are available on tap, thought not all at once, and usually the standards. So you won't find anything unusual or limited, but it's strong in its way, and supplemented by a decent bottle selection as well. And of course, Stella, BMC, and Bass and Harp are clearly available as well. Yay.

The food is good enough, but never special. Which I guess is to be expected, considering what the places is aspiring to. Burgers are decent, wings are pedestrian, and the usual pub grub is there when you need it. Steaks are fair, and It seems the kitchen is challenged to cook it the way it is ordered, erring on the side of too done, which is a shame if you enjoy your beef rare. I will say that the Cobb Salad, one of my favorites, is actually quite nice, with a vinaigrette lending a nice touch, though my preference, blue cheese dressing, was pretty unremarkable.

So in the end, this place is trying. It's not likely to become a destination, unless you happen to live real close, but you're not going to suffer if you stop in and want something craft. And brave the deck if you must on a nice day. As I said, the beer selection is lame, but it never grows old watching middle-aged insensates make al fresco sphincters of themselves.
