Got a pilsner glass fill for 6.50. Expensive.

A - Pours a semi dark hazy amber. Compared to the hefeweizen it was pretty dark with at least two inches of head (damn bartenders really know how to stiff ya!)

S - Ow wow the smell is pungent! You get massive notes of clove, mild fruits, and heavy banana! Lovely

T - ABV is well hidden and I dare say it was the most drinkable Weizenbock I ever had. Huge taste of clove and banana but hardly any fruit made it taste like an imperial hefeweizen...

M - Medium to heavy. A definite sipper in the sense of enjoying the taste.

D - It's hard to believe it was a Weizenbock but whose to argue with German brewing tradition? Still for the price I would have (with a 1.25 more) enjoyed a 1.5 L of there other brews. I remember being able to enjoy these special brews for 9.25 for a 1.5 L but now it seems like a rip to get a pilsner fill. Overall excluding the price it seems to be the best beer I ever had there. Smooth!

a- golden yellow, with a tinge of brown. decent head retention

s- slightly bready, with a citrus smell

t- citrus like bite, with noticeable but mellow hops. not too heavy, considering the higher abv. possible spices added such as coriander.

m- for such a light colored beer, nice heavy body. noticeable bite at the end.

d- for such a strong beer, very very easy to drink. easy to drink too much of it considering the heavy alcohol content along with its delicious taste

November Seasonal at the Hofbräuhaus

A: Pours a dark yellowish brown color with a thick white foam head the dissipates into a small film. No real lacing.

S: Lots of bananas, cloves, spices, roasted malts (bready/caramel) and wheat.

T: Taste just like it smells. The spices and bananas are present throughout, but the creamy malt character comes out on the back end.

M: Leaves a slight spicy but mostly creamy taste on the palate.

D: A very nice Weizenbock. Menu said it was a mixture of a Dopplebock and Weizen. Easy to drink, the alcohol is well hidden.

On tap at the pub.

A-Pours a hazy apricot with plenty of frothy white head and good sticky lacing. Isn't a weizenbock supposed to be dark, though?

S-Lots of banana and clove, very nice. Missing any notes of dark fruit though.

T-Nice banana and especially heavy on the clove with a mild maltiness. Lacking in richness and complexity.

M-Silky smooth, well carbonated.

D-Tasty if it were a hefeweizen. But does not match my expectation of a weizenbock at all.

Had this on 2011-11-25 in Pittsburgh, PA at the brew pub.

A - Hazy amber with a 3.5-finger white head and light lacing.

S - Big bold banana and clove and some light fruit floral.

T - Tastes like a "Pumped Up Kicks" hefe. Again plenty of banana and clove plus some lemon citrus and dark fruit. A bready malt flavor emerges as the fruit and spice notes fade. The alcohol is well-hidden.

M - Medium body and carbonation. Creamy.

O - I enjoyed this brew. Not as refreshing as a hefe because of the higher ABV and strong flavors but a nice treat. One was enough.
