This is a great little place in Jamaica Plain. They feature a small beer menu and have only a couple taps, BUT it's an excellently curated beer menu always featuring great and uncommon finds, with healthy rotation on beers so there's always something new on tap. Great food too!

I usually wouldn't frequent a place that only has 4 taps but Vee Vee is the exception. They consistently have the most interesting and hard to find selection of draft in this area of Boston. For instance, they and The Publick House were the first 2 draft accounts for Trillium Brewing.

Vee Vee is one of the nicer restaurants in Jamaica Plain but the atmosphere is laid back. There are about 6 barstools and then a bunch of small tables. The owners seem to be always there and are very nice. For example, when they had Allagash FV13 on tap I asked if he could try to get more sours like that and he said it would be tough but he'd try.

4 taps with a pretty good bottle selection. On my most recent visit the taps were Trillium Farmhouse, Trillium Fort Point Pale Ale, Jacks Abby 2nd Anniversary and Rising Tide Spinnaker. Prices are usually $6-7 for a pint.

Food is good and perhaps a bit pricey for the area. Lots of local produce and they are well known for their vegetarian and vegan options.

This has easily become one of my – if not the – favorite beer spot in southern Boston (JP, Roslindale, West Roxbury). When you first walk in, you may not expect a great beer spot. It's small and intimate, the bar is only seven seats, and there are only four taps.

But the selection of these four taps is outstanding and always changing; though I frequently visit, I have rarely seen a repeat beer. Usually featuring local beers (Pretty Things, Maine Beer Company, Cambridge Brewing Company, Haverhill, Jack's Abby, Idle Hands, etc.), occasionally a top notch beer from outside New England will appear (I just had The Bruery's Saison this evening). And if the four taps aren't to you liking, there is a fabulous rotating bottle list.

The bartenders are all very knowledgeable, and are quick to offer a tasting of something if you're unfamiliar with it.

The food is spectacular. Though a tad pricey, the quality is so high it is well worth the extra bucks. And like the beer list, the menu often changes over (roughly every few months).

Also worth noting is the music selection. The music is always well chosen, and at the perfect volume: loud enough to hear, but never interfering with conversation. (Also worth noting: no TVs. They encourage conversation!)

If you live in the area, there is no better spot for great beer, great food, and good people. If you're visiting and you want a taste of great New England beer, this is one of the best spots you'll find. If you're looking to binge on 20+ taps, you might head up the street to Canary Square. But between the two, in my opinion, there is no comparison. Vee Vee's always takes first place.

I was hear for the Sixpoint Tap Takeover. I had a flight of the 4 Mad Scientists (#4, #5, #6, #7) and then got a pint each of #6 and #7. I didn't have anything to eat but the atmosphere was great for just drinks. Our bartender was very knowledgable and service was attentive and prompt. It is a small spot, only about 8 seats at the bar and the tables are reserved for those ordering food but the cozy atmosphere is worth it. I highly recommend heading here if you are in the area, even if just to grab a drink.

For brunch on Sunday, my wife and I decided to try Vee Vee. Not much of a crowd when we arrived at 12:15. The inside is painted all orange, but it's oddly soft on the eyes. There were artist's photos all over the walls. Small bar, maybe four seats, and mostly 2 or 4 person tables. Service was good - the ladies working there were quick and friendly. Beer selection was on the small side, but it was all quality beers. They have four taps, and three were reserved for Pretty Things - Jack D'Or, Baby Tree, and American Darling. The other was a Belgian beer I did not recognize from the Shelton Bros. importers. They also had about 20 large sized bottles available, but those seemed pricey. The brunch food was absolutely delicious. My wife had the brioche french toast and I had the Vee breakfast sandwich. It was so good, I ate my meal and half of hers. We decided to come here for brunch because the prices looked very reasonable at $8-10. The food was so good, they could have charged double and I would have been fine with that. We will more than likely be back for brunch again, and we also saw the sign for $1 oyster Thursday nights which grabbed our attention. Vee Vee was a terrific surprise.

Just moved to JP and decided to try Vee Vee this past weekend. Needless to say I was extremely impressed with this place. Not the largest selection of beer but a lot of good New England beers: Berkshire, Cisco, Allagash all on tap and Pretty Things in bottles. Rumor has it that there may be a keg of the Jack D'or making its way here in the not to distant future. They also had a good selection of Belgian and German beers as well (LaChouffe on tap). All in all there were about ten to fifteen beers on the list if I remember correctly. While the beer selection IMO was good the food was even better. More of a fish and vegetable focus to the menu, but they had a lamb special and a pork chop porterhouse that looked good. It is really a better restaurant than a beer bar, but the selection is extensive enough that you can enjoy a (or four) good quality craft beer(s) with an exceptional meal. If you find yourself out in the JP area looking for a good spot to eat I would highly recommend Vee Vee as they save a number of tables for walk in customers.
