750 ml bottle, mine says 8% ABV. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown with a couple inch light tan head. Head retention is good, and there's a decent amount of lacing. The brew smells like dark fruit, chocolate, roasted and burnt/charred malt, and a bit of caramel. It tastes like bittersweet chocolate, burnt/charred malt, herbs and a bit of licorice. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a little slick and has very high carbonation. The high carbonation hurts the drinkability of this beer at first, but it does settle down some after a while. It's a decent roasty stout, and it's worth trying.

Very dark which is to be expected from a stout. Pours about a 3 finger head. Smell is slightly sour with hints of licorice. Taste up front is chocolate with a slight bitter finish. A very good, decently strong flavored stout. Definitely worth a try if your a stout fan.

Got this one at Geers in Gent a while back.

From a 750ml bottle into a snifter.

APPEARANCE: Careful pour is clear brown and yields a two finger, medium looking, fluffy, light tan head with great retention. Black body and very high levels of carbonation. Head eventually fades to a thick foam cap and coats the sides of the glass with lacing. A good full wisp remains and leaves sheets of lacing down the glass.

SMELL: Medium strength nose of roasted and caramel malts with touches of cocoa powder. Some earthy and floral hops in there as well. Decent nose, but not all that stout-like.

TASTE: Some roasted malts and cocoa powder, but mostly sweet caramel flavors and earthy floral hop bitterness through the middle into the finish. A slight bit of sourness and astringency at the swallow. Medium aftertaste lingers nicely with some mild roasted notes and some floral hop bitterness. Again, decent, but not all that stout.

PALATE: medium body and a little light on the palate. Higher amounts of carbonation, goes down fine and finishes slightly astringent on the palate. Quite a dry finish and not overly creamy either.

OVERALL: Not a bad beer really. It’s flavorful and relatively hoppy, but it’s not all that stout-like. Certainly fine to drink, but not something to go for if you’re in the mood for a stout. Wouldn’t pick this one up again I don’t think.
