Bought a 65cl bottle in Paris at a grocery store for about a euro. I think it's safe to say that this is my favorite beer bottle that I've ever seen. It has a distinctive shape, one of those cool, resealable caps, and logos designed into the bottle of a little boy of about 10 years sitting on a barrel, chugging (frat-boy style) a giant mug of beer that's about half as big as he is! That would never fly in the US, which is why I love it!

With that said, this beer was unimpressive (though this was to be expected, considering the style and price).

A - Golden-tan color with substantial carbonation in the bottle, but that dwindles quickly (along with the head) when poured into a glass.

S - Has some uncharacteristic spiciness, which I like. Also has some hints of that sewagey smell that you get with cheap lagers, but not excessive amounts.

T - Pretty standard European lager taste: malty and light. Goes down with little flavor, but gives you a slight kick of spiciness at the end.

M - Standard lager mouthfeel. Nothing else really to say. Feels bubbly and thin.

O - For it's price and style, it's certainly not terrible. If I were to have any of my bud-light-drinking friends over here to visit me in Paris, I'd probably get this for them over Kronenbourg, Carlsberg and the like. Good for drinking on a budget and for power-hour-esque activities. Plus the awesome display gives it some extra points in my book!

Labeled as “Fischer – Biere Blonde Social d’ Alsace.” For a garbage style, this was pretty good stuff. Smooth and honey like, both in MF and taste. Smells slightly skunked and chemical. Tastes somewhat strong of alcohol and rotten fruit with a healthy bitterness in the finish. The presentation is great in a large brown pop-top bottle. Appearance is clear, light gold.

Nice brown "Grolsch" like bottle (good for re-use).

Pours a dark yellow color with a lot of head in the beginning which laces well. Very fizzy.

Smells like fruit, maybe some apple and blueberry.

No mouthfeel whatsover. Besides being wet and a small initial alcohol, I couldn't feel anything.

Tastes of fruit and not much alcohol, but I can start to feel a slight warming as I finish off the bottle. Better than most american lagers, but very smooth. I think I would normally drink this too fast.

Mine is labeled Biere Blonde Speciale. I was unsure which this belongs under, so I made a guess.

G: Stein

A: Clear gold body with 1.5 inch white head with good retention - leaves decent lacing.

S: Rice, grains, light citrus fruits, with faint floral hops.

T: Grains are very dominant, some bitterness following and subtle hints of fruit.

M: Light bodied with high carbonation. Leaves an unpleasant dry finish.

D: I did not like this much at all. Wouldn't think about buying it again. The flavours weren't strong and the carbonation was to high for my liking.

This brew pours a medium yellow color, giving off shimmering reflections, making it seem almost greenish, at times. A chunky head of white bubbles stands one finger high, and recedes at a medium pace. Minimal lacing is left as it goes. The liquid is entirely clear, no sediment or haze is noted, and carbonation looks to be medium. The aroma is made up of bitter malts and adjuncts, punctuated by notes of brass, burnt plastic, and some white wine grapiness. This last component spills over into to being slightly appley and sweet. There is also the faintest grassiness in the distance. As we sip, malts and bittersweet red apples hit up front. There are generous inclusions of metallic flavors as well. The middle sees a cleanliness though, with sweetness peeking through the bitter grain to brush the top of the palate. The finish is with more grain and corny adjuncts, with a revival of a sour metal twinge. The aftertaste breathes with even more metal, if that was even thought possible. This is suspended in grain, and a winey alcoholic bite. The body is light to moderate and the carbonation is high. There is little coating, and zero slurpability. The mouth is left bitterly dry, with an astringent, sticky feel. The roof of the mouth literally feels as if it has been magically transformed into the metal which is so inclusive throughout the tasting. The tongue slickly slides down it, picking up iron and brass on its way. The abv is standard, and the beer drinks fine for the style.

Overall, what we enjoyed most about this brew were the interesting notes in the nose. While there were certainly some undesirable aromas, there were also some inclusions that made it borderline wine-esque, and intriguing. Otherwise, what we are presented with is an average beer for the style. It really has no high points, but at the same time lacks anything utterly offensive. While this is not the ideal brew, it is certainly not the worst on the market. With some refinement and replacement of some of the adjuncts with prime ingredients, this could be a decent brew.

Large flip top bottle

Pours with a light yellow body, slight golden shimmer, slightly puffy foamy head, fair retention

Smell, quite a strong alcohol aroma, slight malt sweetness

Taste, whoa, the alcohol in this tastes at least 3% about its stated abv, not very well hidden at all, pretty potent. Fairly dry finish some sweetness and a slight hop bitterness

Pretty crappy stuff

Pretty much a carbon copy of my last review for another Fischer beer.

I had a few different Fischer beers while on vacation in Western Germany, France and Luxembourg. None of them were outstanding but none were offensive either. Just disappointing average beers when I was searching for European quality beer that can't be found at home.

The appearance was clear straw with little head or lacing. The aroma was grainy and the taste was that of an average euro-lager. Easy to drink and would be a good lawn mower beer here.

I'm not disappointed that I can't get it here.

After the first sip, my first thoughts were, hey this is a cool bottle. Unfortunately that's the only thing this beer has going for it. No flavour, watered-down, and no aroma. I didn't detect any hops or malt, it reminded me of the massed produced BMC just with a different label. Disappointing, and not something I would buy again.

This was pretty much awful. Drank this in Greece in a restaurant. And luckily the food was quite good so it didn't spoil the meal. But I wouldn't recommend drinking this.

Appearance>Dark blonde, pours with a big head that had no retention. It is very lively.

Smell> toastier than I expected. Fruit esters

Taste> lager start, blonde ale middle, with a light fruit finish. Tastes a whole lot better than beers of its price range. Very french tasting

Mouthfeel> Seltzery, but refreshing. Good summer day beer. A little too carbonated.

Drinkability> Not my cuppa tea since I'm not a big lager drinker, but I've got to give it a three because you get a ton of beer for hardly any money and it doesn't taste like bad big brewery domestics. I gotta hand it to Trader Joes and Fischer Brewery for making a good value blonde that has some nice complexities to it.
