So PJ's increases their commitment to craft beer and South Jersey gets a spot worth going to. While that is rare for South Jersey, it is becoming less so. Five years ago, we would have sawed off our left arm to get a place like this.

They really thought out the layout. My impression is that they went to a bunch of places in Philly and created a two-tiered floor with a lot of wood. Didn't go up to the second floor.

Servers were friendly and attentive. However, the one I had didn't seem to know too much about the food menu. This has never been a strong suit of PJs.

The food I had was pretty impressive. I had the bison burger (actual buffalo meat). It had goat cheese, dried cherries and pears on it, which worked really well. Cooked as medium, it was juicy and not that pink. The nachos we split were pretty interesting. Seemed to have homemade chips of unknown type. My wife didn't care for her burger, but I didn't have a taste. They had a raw oyster bar. You have to get points for that.

The selection was very good. Great if you judge it by South Jersey standards. I got a Dupont beer I haven't seen before, so that impressed me. Founder's, Victory Mad Weiss. Seems they rotate a good bit. I'm not sure if they'll do rare one-offs like the Grey Lodge, but this was impressive.

Got to try the Tap Room & Grille next. Westmont-area may be become a little mini-Philly. And if you told me that five years ago, I may have cried.

Let's start with the worst part of the visit - parking. The lot was small and it took a few circles around the place to find a spot. Once inside, a boisterous atmosphere greeted us. We got one of the last available tables as the place was packed and the wait list was starting behind us. The bar area was small but was standing room only.

There are electronic beer lists on some screens along with the paper version. Plenty of local beers including some one offs were on the list. The beers the four of us enjoyed were all fresh.

Service was struggling with the crowd as it took us a good 10 minutes to get the first beers. Food came out in good time and was enjoyed by all of us. The Hangover Burger I had was really done perfectly.

Overall an enjoyable place to have some good casual food with some great beers but parking is a challenge on a busy Friday night.

Probably the best beet bar in South Jersey. Although the gap is dwindling... The burger is excellent.

I read on BeerMenus about this place and their having Dogfish World Wide Stout 2010 and I just *had* to go ther.e So I talked the wife into driving over there- it is only seven miles from our abode in South Philly after all.

After getting lost a couple of times (we ended up driving by Cooper River Park), we arrived to The Pour House and man, was it busy. We couldn't find parking at all, Friday at 6:30pm... and we did get to the joint there was a 25-minute wait for a table and a mighty-packed bar.

This being Jersey, though, the 2010 World Wide Stout I had come here for was still on tap no problem... most of the patrons were drinking colorful mixed drinks and bottled beers.

When we did get our table, the wife and I sat upstairs and had a good time. Our waitress was busy but very efficient, and I got my second pour of WWS in no time.

They must have had a Troegs tap event because there were lots of them, including Master of Pumpkins, Scratch 83 (Impending Descent), Blizzard of Hops and three years of Mad Elf.

Behold Lagunitas Double Dry Hopped, Stone RIS and Double Bastard and more... prices are not bad, 6-7 dollars...

But the food wasn't so good. The wife went for a "Second Coming" burger that supposedly won Philadelphia Magazine's number one burger spot in 2013. Yes, it was good, Tremendous flavor and juiciness. My sausage-and-mushroom flatbread pizza was incredibly sad, though... and the menu is unimaginative, particularly coming from Philadelphia (no veggie/vegan options at all)

I am rating The Pour House highly because, for South Jersey, the tap list is phenomenal and I would come back for that. Otherwise... well, you know.
