great selection in both quantity and quality for a grocery store. There is a large beer section, divided up and organized well by region. Good selection of local VA beer for me to pick up while in town from PA.

Selection and vibe on par with what you'd expect from a Wegmans, but this was the first time I was taken back by great service. Very attentive, helpful and polite fellow making himself available to several different folks.

Superior beer selection and prices, overall wonderful experience
There are seasonals near the cheese section, gourmet beers near the bakery/fresh foods, a walk in freezer, and a main beer section in the back, if you are just browsing for something you generally would have to traverse much of the whole store. The area around here is built up nicely with restaurants and more..

Also in the beer section itself, they often have premium beers on the wall that you have to request, from the clerk, here you will find their many rare/limited release brews..

Add to that the occasional in-store beer tasting, and you'll quickly realize this is far beyond your typical grocery store...

I used to live out near this place, but moved right before it got good.

It's tucked back away from civilization somewhat, right off 95... but don't fret... it looks like a whole new civilization is springing up right around it! While Wegman's is the centerpiece, it's in a newly developed shopping and eating complex.

If you've never been grocery shopping at a Wegman's, you're in for a real treat! It's like a Whole Foods, traditional grocery store, and cafeteria all rolled into one.

In terms of beer, most of the bottled stuff is on the left hand side (facing the store), and up near the front. Pretty much every brewery that gets distributed to Virginia is at least represented. Tons of DFH, Victory, Weyerbacher, Founders, Smuttynose, Stone, etc. A couple of aisle contain the craft American 6-pks and bombers, another has the English style, and one has Belgians and/or other European treats. There are several more places scattered throughout the store which has patches of beer, including a new and improved sushi bar, which has several taps where you can get a pint while you're in the store. On this particular occasion, they had Stella Artois, Nugget Nectar, Old Rasputin, and one more that I can't remember.

One of the things I really dig is the extremely local representation. For instance, there are several end caps of Virginia based breweries such as Port City (our new brewery!), Legend, Old Richmond, Flying Dog, Alewerks, and a couple of others.

The workers here mean well, but they are basically clueless about what beers they have. Whenever they ask if I need anything, I just usually say no and go about my business.

In terms of value, I think most of it is reasonable. The best use I've made in the past pertaining to the beer here has been in entertaining guests. For instance, I could grab a 12 pack Smuttynose sampler for around $15 and treat my out-of-town guests to East Coast stuff without breaking the bank. For this reason, I feel this is a decent place to seek out. However, just remember that it's ultimately a grocery story and not a place to get special order or release gourmet brews.

Pretty easy to find once you realize that its not currently on some maps. Very new development. Clean store, great selection of food to pair with the beer.

There is a shelved section towards the front of the store. 1 full aisle and 2 half aisles(short). Good selection, quality.

Theres a few refers in the back, 6 door I believe with a walk in for cases. It would be nice to have a better selection on the cold aisle, theres plenty of room in the refer for more if it were organized better. Nevertheless its still great for a grocery store.

Wow - Wegmans sure has been expanding lately. No beef here since it's in another one of my adopted home states...errr...Commonwealths...

Big-@$$ beer selection. Maybe not quite the depth of the Gainesville location but very good indeed. Lots of breath of locals, regionals, nationals and just some all-around decent beer.

Service doesn't really enter the equation here. Maybe it's unfair to ding service in a grocery store - can we put "n/a?"

Yup, there's a whole lot of beer here. Seems to be reasonably fresh, too. Lots of selections - maybe slightly behind the Gainesville location as mentioned above.

Prices are decent - in line with others.

I would hit this place up on my way down to Richmond if it wasn't in such a convoluted location off I-95. Really, couldn't they have done a little better than that? Still, a great store if you're in the area.
