Interesting German-style beer hall in the middle of Ginza, representing both the Japanese penchant for 'themed' places, and their German-influenced brewing heritage. Its actually very well done inside, and has an authentic feel that owes as much to its age as it does to the Japanese ability to replicate anything. Good stonework and mosaics, and excellently attired barstaff.

The place was hopping, but as I came to expect, service was prompt, courteous and efficient. No language problems and no difficulty in ordering what we wanted. This being a Saporro owned beer hall, the drinks list is limited to their own offerings, but there's some quality to be found in there and I enjoyed a pint of Yebisu Black. The Kohaku, however, was everything that could be wrong with a macro.

Off the top of my head I can't quite recall what we ate, but do remember that it was pretty damn tasty. If memory serves me tight, there was a sausage plate in there somewhere, and that sounds par for the course.

Prices were reasonable for Tokyo.
