on tap at the brewpub in Saint Francis. pours a drab brown color with amber highlights and a single finger of eggshell colored head. retains nicely with moderate lacings.

aroma is of mild grain and some caramelized malts with a lightly nutty base. hearty in the nose with a grainy profile. a bit light for a nut brown, but still pleasant.

taste folows the nose with a more pronounced nutty base and a finish of caramel and some light nutty notes. nice on the palate with a good drinkability.

mouthfeel is medium bodied with a sessionable character and a finish of residual malts. goes down smooth with a residual slickness.

drinkability is good. a decent nut brown with a bit of a lack of character. needs a more concentrated profile to be taken seriously.

Served on draft. Poured a very dark brown with one finger off-white head. Aroma of toffee and slight caramel. Flavor is subtle overall; toffee and roasted caramel flavors. Mouth feel is medium body and spicy from the carbonation. Good drinkability, but not a memorable beer.

A: light brown color
S: light roasted malt, very little hops
T: a bit sweeter than others, grain really comes through, not as rich and malty as I would expect, a bit thin but clean
M: too sweet, needed just a bit more hops
D: ok, but too sweet for my liking
