Dark chestnut with a distant ruby glow. Shows an interesting synthesis of brown ale and porter styles. Though the flavor isn't abundantly strong, it has that way of making you sit up and pay attention by soundly delivering on the chocolate malts with a firm wash of hops singing backup. Would serve very well at any pub in London.

Let it warm a bit. Then take in the brown and chocolate fragrance. Very nice.

The first beer to come from this new brewery in Redmond. It's an interesting mix of a brown and a porter. Surprisingly complex upon initial taste, it's a great beer.

I know - how very NOT helpful. I'll try to edit this review when I have more time.

It's my favorite beer at Black Raven hands down.

On tap at Black Raven. L: Dark brown, almost opaque. Thin tan head, nice lacing. S: a little brown sugar or toffee, not much. T: A little nutty, coffee and dark chocolate. Plenty of bitterness. F: a little thinner than the average porter but in this case isn't necessarily bad. In fact, if it had more body, it might throw off the balance. O: good porter, super easy drinking. I could drink this all day and still be ready for more.
