Brewed with rye malt and five hop varieties that span the hop-growing globe, this once-brewed beer has an affirmed IPA hop profile with the fragrance of tangerine and musky earth notes. It is clouded ochre with vivacious carbonation, lace all over, and a flowery hop essence that's exotic and profuse. The flavor is at once tropical and sensual like a lei or honeysuckle vine with notes of sliced guava.
Black Raven finished the beer with an addition of organic lemon thyme and lemongrass. I'm not sure why these herbs were added, but the flavor and drinkability here are very high. Lets hope they re-release this on a more regular basis.

Brewed for the 5th Birthday of Brouwers Cafe, in Seattle, this a strong version of an American IPA. This brew is stronger than the breweries Trickster IPA, although not by much, and not as strong as the ImpIPA by the same brewery.
Served in a straight pint glass, the beer was a cloudy straw yellow with a healthy white head that had very good retention and lacing.
The aroma was a solid piney hop scent, with citrus hop notes in the background and just enough malt foundation to notice. The taste was very similar, primarily the various hops, and enough malt to notice, but not really take note of.
The body and drinkability were both typical for the style (I had several before the 1/6 barrel kicked), and probably a bit better than most.
You're probably not going to get a chance at this brew, but if you do, you'd be a fool to pass it up.
