Went here to actually pick up beer mustard and was quite surprised what else I found here. It is an unique set-up here, when you walk in there is about 20 taps, in the open with no bar in front of it, there is a small counter with a register then about 6 freezer windows filled with bottled beer. The bottled beer is suppose to be for take-out only but the bartender there let us consume there. They offer 8oz and 16oz pours, along with growler fills. The prices are in line with the Brooklyn-Craft beer pricing (overpriced anywhere else except Manhattan). They also sell this German meat stick there, its excellent. Also the wood burning fireplace in the back adds a nice touch in the winter, along with the deer head.

Around the corner from Threes Greenpoint, bottle shop taproom with 20 taps and 6 coolers of bottles and can. Nice selection, a few communal tables. NYC prices.

A nice bar/shop combo in Greenpoint, there's usually a great diversity of beer styles and producers on tap. I like the fact that I'm not pigeonholed into drinking DIPAs and Imperial Stouts when I come here, and I'm glad to report there's almost always a sour on tap for my girlfriend to enjoy. It's not the biggest place, and I would discourage you from visiting on a hot day -- there's no AC, and the giant fan they have doesn't quite cut it.

The bottle/can selection to go is quite nice, as well, and often has a few surprises that make it hard not to leave with something in hand. The prices aren't always great, but that's the nature of rarity/difficulty to find I suppose.

This is a really cool place in the BK.

Like many other places in NYC, it will cost you a bit to have a beer. Thankfully, however, they offer smaller servings and graduating prices that ease the sticker shock. Add to this a superb selection including some rareties and beers that out-of-towners like me never see and it's easy to go overboard here and order a ton of beers.

Just to give an idea of the selection, they had Sweetwater and Green Flash among other American craft options that I'm blanking on, as well as a number of Belgian and German offerings like Gaffel and again, some other names I'm blanking on. Bottom line: you'll find something you like here.

Add to the great tap selection an impeccable cooler selection for those that want to take some bottles to go or crack one on the premises. If you buy a bottle, you'll pay a corkage fee to drink at the bar, but once you see the selection, you'll probably still want to do this despite the extra charge.

As for the seating, there's small beer garden in the back and tables for around 10-12 people right next to the taps. There are pretzels and pickles for those that get the munchies too.

Overall, one of the best spots I've been to in NYC. Not sure when I'll return, but it can't come soon enough.

Stopped by after a terrific time at Torst. This place was unusual and very cool. Small beer retail (excellent selections) with 16 or so outstanding taps. Had one of the best stouts ever (Warlock, by Victory I think?) and several wet-hopped IPAs. Took home a couple growlers afterward. Wish there were more of this style beer drinking/beer retail places. Reminded me of Common Market in Charlotte without the general merchandise and deli. Lots of fun.

Stopped in at opening time on a monday. Cool layout with a large window outside that allows you to look a the chalk board of tap/growler fills 9in fact I found it easier to read the list by stepping outside and looking through the window. Below is the taps (not really behind a bar). A few cold case and sitting area, also a nice little patio out back.

Looked liked it would be a great neighborhood spot, but I was more on the look out for bottles on my visit and they were very picked over, ended up leaving empty handed. Tap list was nice looking but also nothing I couldn't live with out.

Minimal interaction with the staff but they seemed nice enough. Would stop in if in the neighborhood.

Oh, St. Patrick’s Day, I mean ‘amateur night' weekend, my bad. So, I’ve been here a few times but it’s never been conducive to my scribbling of notes (including now). No, not just a bottle & growler store, but a place to get a pint or shorty, too. Without a doubt, it’s the perfect place to get your pre-Paulie’s game on (hot honey soppa, yum!). Storefront up towards the top of the strip on Greenpoint, in, well, Greenpoint...

It’s a shoebox, true, but they get it done, their space running an ‘L’ around the cold box room. Up front, 19 taps on a single panel row over drainage, and sometimes a cask offering, but not now. Growlers stacked horizontally below the taps and a horizontal board above listing selections, style, ABV, & pricing for ½ pint, pint, and litre medicine jar, & 2L growlers. Sink on the end for glass cleaning and growler rinsing if necessary. A few standards always on (Jever & Gaffel), and they otherwise rotate in some nice things on tap. Sometimes, something sour or the Hill Farmstead wares will not be available for growler fills, but what you do instead is to drink a glassful (3) there. That there was free advice; you’re welcome. And 5 cooler doors on the cold room down along the side, a smallish selection but always something I want to grab (Hello, Cascade Blueberry). A bit pricey, but that’s why I work, pay to play.

Brick walls worn and white or faded some. The side wall with some slat wood framings with a mounted deer head over a shelving holding dead soldier display bottles; many or most for show as they don’t sell them here (New Belgium, Russian River, Port, Lost Abbey, Three Floyds, New Glarus, Westie 12, maybe, but certainly not Bells, yet, anyway). Currently, colorful wet looking local art, but I’ve seen some other cool stuff before. Random neons & other signage. The 4 X 8 vertical Jever prints are kind of cool, and the 4 X 6 Gaffel Kolsch one, as well. Vintagey Canadian beer signage (Black Horse Biere; Ale & Porter and Boswell Biere; Ale & Porter), and an upside down Palm sign (probably for what they did to Rodenbach’s blending ratios). Cooler space above is pasted with brewery stickers and panels above hide storage, ‘cause like I said, they don’t have a whole lot of room. Gray concrete floors, dark wood rafters & ceiling with a pair of spinnys & skylights, arched & framed. Lantern a-dangling just inside the front door and a row of 5 suction cap lamps running to the rear.

A pair of hightop roundy Gaffel Kolsch tables just inside the door, a pair of bar counter-like narrow tables past there, and then another pair of Gaffels to the rear. I am seated at one of them back there, lovin’ on the warmth of the mid March wood stove. There is also a backyard space, slight & tight with nearly a ½ dozen tables, but doable, although, if I recall correctly, the space is angled or sloped or something so it’s difficult to sit, at least at that one table. And it’s snowing now so I’ll remain inside, thank you. Bathroom has greenhouse uppers, keg storage, and some seriously badass Star Wars wallpaper worth noting (so I did).

I've attended a few tastings here (lemme see, there was that sour event and then that night with the IPA's), but I'm just here for a few quick ones today. Started with the Victory NATO IPA (resin piney goodness), then the Green Flash Hop Odyssey Black IPA (did not suck), and then the Victory Rye Expression (meh). Beers were served in 2 sizes of the standard Gaffel glass.

Eats. Bar counter ledge up front and a small heat lamp unit for the benefit of the pretzels they sell. Pretzels! Beer and pretzels, yes, I know, I feel the same way. Meat sticks and pickles jarred, too.

I can spend some time here. They’re currently setting up for a farmer’s co-op food pick up. I’m listening to a guy describe what he picked up and I’m wishing I was ‘in’. They’re playing a good amount of Beirut this afternoon; I am very good with that. I should apologize to everyone around me for loudly whistling all the brass parts and those which I have improvised, but I will not, because I can carry a tune & harmonize functionally. When it came time to settle up, I gave my usual ‘do you take cash? line. Erik didn’t find it terribly funny, probably because (read the sign), it’s all they take. Good for the bottle & growler grab or just a drop in for a few pints. or both. Probably both. They do a nice job of it here. Good house in Greenpoint.

One of my favorite spots in NYC for beer. I love the funky/quirky set up, consistently amazing tap selection, and perhaps my favorite, half pours available on all taps!

A favorite thing to do is go grab a bottle or two to take home, grab a half pour of something unique and enjoy it there. The staff is fun, very Brooklyn, very knowledgeable.

The bottle selection is limited, priced in line for NYC (skewing a bit high sometimes). But they do make the most of the limited selection, stocking some unique bottles that you don't see elsewhere. Also, they often have previous year bottles at reasonable mark ups.

Food is snacks, pretzels, jerky. I do like the jerky and the mustard is excellent, but it's hardly the centerpiece.

Atmosphere is fun and communal. The bartender/cashier is often forced to be right next to you (there is literally no bar, just a small stand with a register on it), and it makes it quite personal, if a bit odd. The tables are set up about as well as the space allows. The outside is cozy but awesome on a hot day.

Overall, an excellent, quirky place where the taps are the showcase. There are better bottle shop options around, but for sampling or seasoning, this is the best in the neighborhood.

Another very decent place to have a beer in the area, with some good taps selection. Nice environment near a reinvigorated water area. Worth a stop if you can pull yourself away or not get into Torst. A very good though not yet world class place. Parking can be an issue in the area.

The bottle selection seems solid enough, but fresh beer will excite pretty frequently. Drinking there can be nice, too. Guys running the place are nice and friendly.

This place is small and has limited seating inside but it has a great enclosed "backyard" seating area outside. The decor is heavy on beer paraphernalia and exposed brick. This place also has the coolest bathroom decor that I have run across in a beer store/bar - storage for about 10 empty kegs, a couple of empty sixtels, and super sweet late 70s Star Wars wallpaper over the sink (it makes me wish I could include a photo of that as a part of the review). Unfortunately, the place does not have AC so I would suggest avoiding it on really hot summer afternoons.

The place pours very nice and super fresh beers in proper glassware.

The service was good with the bartender/shop keeper making sure to get our orders filled in a timely fashion and making sure everything was as expected.

The selection was good and on the most recent visit it was really good as they were having a special selection of sour beers. In addition to serving about 20 beers on tap, they fill growler, and have a good selection of craft bottles.

This has become one of my favorite places to drink beer and buy beer. They have 20+ taps and 1 cask with selection being some of the best in the city. I have had some great Hill Farmstead, Kelso, Firstone Walker, Jolly Pumpkin, Stillwater, and wonderful tastings. They recently had a Barleywine tasting that included Firestone Walker 15, Bruery Cuir, Our Finest Regards, Avery Hog Heaven, and a Terrapin collaboration barleywine. Simple place with a few table and limited but excellent bottle selection. Bottle prices are a bit high, but bonus for making a six-pack(buy 5 get 1 free) and growler fills are very reasonable and you can get pint or 1/2 pints to enjoy in house. There is a toasty wood burning oven in the back. You can bring food or have it delivered. It has ample bike racks out front. If you leave feeling like you didn't get everything you wanted, Eastern District is just down the block. This place rocks. There should be one of these in every neighborhood.

Small, extremely cool place. Growler fills o' plenty from the filling station to the right as you enter, bottles kept cold in the mid sized units to the left of the cash register, wood burning stove and small outside space. No food, but you can bring your own in if you want to eat and enjoy a draft selection, or two. Beer savvy and friendly staff. Add it all up and you get a very worthy stop. Feels like a slice of Amsterdam in Brooklyn.
Quality taps expected. New releases and other interesting offerings have been the norm every time I have visited.

I was just heading to a show at coco 66 a few doors down and this made me stop dead in my tracks. You walk into a 6 door bottle cooler and a wall of taps. A pretty good selection of domestic craft beer as well as on tap some awesome imports as well. Got a goblet of allagash victor for 6 dollars and my girlfriend got a green flash imperial ipa goblet for 5 so the pricing seems very reasonable. The bottle prices are slightly above what you would pay at a bottle shop but its a nice relaxed place to sit and enjoy your beers. The staff knows their beer quite well. I'm pretty glad to have found this place I would have never sought it out but very happy I passed it.

Have stopped by this place last week, and even though usually I try to visit a local place a few times before posting, I found this spot so pleasant that I don't mind coming to the conclusion earlier.

Brouwerij Lane is somewhat of a hybrid between store and bar - the idea that I like very much. You can enjoy a beer while browsing. And here you're much closer to it too.

As you enter, the tap area is to the right. They pour half-pints (although they seemed like 200ml to me), pints, half- (32 oz) and full (64 oz) growlers. They will pour you a taste too. They have about 16 taps - a few German, a few more Belgian and majority American craft beers. They also have a gravity keg (during my visit it was Pretty Things EIP). Some beers are easy to find, but there were a few that I've never heard of (I've had an excellent Hopfenstark saison). I think the selection is very good with quite a few session beers. Draft prices seemed reasonable.

Further in there are several coolers. The bottles seemed ineteresting, but I didn't pay them much attention. There are a couple of high tables and a very small garden in the back. There is a bike rack upfront, which I appreciated.

Service was good. Not very chatty, but friendly and able to answer all questions.

I've spent abour an hour in the place enjoying a few beers (half pints are great for tasting beers), and I found experience absolutely enjoyable. I liked being close to the beer without a bar separating the space. Since the space is open, I found it a bit weird getting a beer and then walking to the cashier to pay, but that's more because I was thinking of the place as a bar instead of a store.

Been here a couple of times now.

The space is small, or "intimate", as some may say. There are a few bar stools, a couple of refrigerator cases, and a line of taps off to the right. The place smells like beer and it's always clean.

The quality and selection are fantastic. Taps rotate frequently, and relevant information on the beers are written up on a chalkboard above the taps. Nice array of glasses, too. I've had everything from Goose Island to Belgian goodies, and more. Tons of great bottles to choose from if you'd rather grab a bottle to take home and enjoy quietly.

Haven't had much to say about the service. Each time I've gone, the person pouring hasn't seemed too interested in sharing any information on the beers, but that's ok.

A perfect weekend afternoon would include some brews here, then a walk over to Brooklyn Brewery, then back again. I'll be coming here as often as possible as long as I live out here.

A great little place close to the home of some family friends in the Polish neighborhood of Greenpoint. Built in an old garage, this is a bar, beer store, and growler fill station all in one. The tap selection is great - I had a couple Hill Farmstead beers as well as some other interesting stuff. The guy there, Eric, is very knowledgeable about beer, which is always a good thing. The seating is austere but befitting of the setting. The kegs of the Hill Farmstead beers seemed a bit off. They poured out looking like grapefruit juice, cloudy and pink. Weirded me out. Bottle prices are a bit high, even for NYC, for which I need to knock down the score a little bit. Captain Lawrence Smoke from the Oak pack for EIGHTY BUCKS??? Come on, man! Overall a solid place though that I wish I lived two blocks from like my friends do.

Visited a couple nights ago with some friends. I heard they had some good beer and wanted to try them out. My overall impression of this place was not good. First of all this place needs to decide weather it is a beer store or a bar. I don't mean to sound like a stickler for rules or anything, but why is it that they only want you to drink the beers that they have on tap in the store? They have seating like a bar, and they serve drinks like a bar, but if you want to drink the nice bottled beer they have, well... Oh, I guess thats for take home only. Come on! Double standard much?
The second problem I have with this place is the pricing. Most of the bottles are priced way above market standard. $45 for a 750ml of Cantillon? Please. Yeah, I know it's good, but not that good.
Overall, this palce has potential and with some tweaking could be a real beer destination. The selection of bottles is good and the tap beers are all from good brewers, but this place fails as a store because of the prices and fails as a bar because of the setup.

A very laid back and unpretentious beer store/bar in Brooklyn. Stopped by after a Brooklyn Brewery tour, and was glad I did. Prices were extremely reasonable for there ~10 taps, growler fills were priced right, although the single bottle prices were a little pricey, but where else could I find some Stone Ruination? There were several large cooler walls of beer singles. Beer was served in pint or half pint format, there were some discounts for flight purchases. I really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, I just wish I lived closer.
