Not the most ambitious of blondes. Tastes more like a cream ale than a blonde--reminds me much more of a Spotted Cow than a Eureka. Other than semantics, though, it doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. Come on, "Tailgate."

But I won't rag on it. I could easily pound a few of these before a football game and feel good that I wasn't drinking macro leviathan swill. Very malty. Reason I say cream ale is that I detect a heavy creamed corn presence. Hops are there if you're looking for them but are by no means front and center.

Overall, fine. Won't seek it out again...but fine.

Big yellow taxi, er beer, solid 1" of white head. Aroma was nothing. Like Neitzsche or whatever.

Lots of water, yeast malt and hops lurking somewhere undetectable by human senses. Some sweet corn mouthfeel. Not a whole lot going on, thankfully no off flavors.

12oz can from a 6-pk purchased at a discount grocery store in Spokane for $4.99. The label is different than the one pictured on BA. I purchased this because it was cheap and because it said it was brewed in Nashville, and I’d never had a beer from Tennessee. Now I see it must have been contract brewed for “Tailgate Beer”, which is apparently some sort of concern in San Diego. My inner ticker is displeased. No obvious freshness date, though there’s some sort of code stamped on the bottom of the can – “30072015 12” Best by 7 July, 2015 – Batch 12? Your guess is as good as mine.

This looked hazy, with a color that was somewhere between gold and amber. Initially there was a big, white head describable as somewhere between creamy and sudsy. Said head left quite a lot of lace on the sides of the glass and receded to a white skiff over the course of three or four minutes.

Crude, earthy,“grainy” malts and meek, floral hops – in that order. There was a slight, apple-ish fruity tang.

The nasal description above fits the taste, but with a vague sourness in the aftertaste that reminds me a teeny bit of lemonade. This tastes like a bland mass consumption lager without the clean finish.

Mouthfeel is…yawn…unremarkable, so I won’t.

Worth what I paid for it, and very drinkable if served just above freezing. It’s inoffensive, and I could probably knock back several if I wanted to. That and the fact that I have, indeed, had much worse are the nicest things I can say about this beer.
