Traditionally this beer can be served with a slice of lemon. This adds a bit of citrus note that compliments the fruitiness. No fruit is added. All of the flavors come from a unique yeast strain from Bavaria. The esters are produced during fermentation.

Clear and golden with a tall white head. The beer has a tart aroma...fruity (apple) with some background citrus. It has a wheat twang, balanced with more bitterness than necessary. A bit of straw-like grain in the flavor, and a decent dryness. The beer is okay, but certainly not great.

A nice wheat ale with a nice zip of lemon zest and juice. Tastes very natural and complements the wheat perfectly. Perfect for a hot summer day.

Using the swirl-pour-swirl technique, it pours out to a cloudy yellow color and thin white head (based on other reviews that may be a glassware issue). Aroma is wheaty, spicy-clovey, slightly phenolic and fruit esters--mainly banana, pomegranate (bubble gum?) and pineapple--with some spiciness in the mix. Flavor is a mild mix of spice, fruit and wheat and some malt sweetness. Mouthfeel is just right even though the CO2 is on the low end of the scale. Overall, this is quite a tasty brew for an American hefe. The German character is subdued but very evident and that makes this a beer for all occasions.

Thought I'd give this a try. Not very many American brewers make decent German style wheat beers, but looks like this one may get at least close.
Poured this into a 12oz Weizen glass, and the brew made a three finger thick head of off white foam, and the body is golden and hazy. The retention of the foam presentation is decent, in that it is not dissipating too quickly.
In the aroma, I'm getting cracked white pepper, bubble gum, clove, and a little hint of banana.
Taste wise I detect the cloves, some pepper, and enough banana to suit me.
Feels well carbonated, light in body, and a little dry to the plate but still wetting in the very end.
Overall this would make at least an average Hefeweizen in the Bundesrepublik Deutschland.
