Pours dark brown with ruby tints and a small head.
Nose shows bready, toasty and nutty malt. Quite interesting though.
Flavours are more approaching roasted malt, with some soft toasty notes underneath. Also some spicy hops.
Carbonation is too hot.
A big change of last year.

Bottle at Beer Deluxe. From notes.

A - Poured dark, dark brown with a one finger light brown head. No lace and a film of retention.

S - Dark fruit, earthy.

T - Coffee, dark fruit, earthy, stone somehow seems to be there in the form of a minerally or earthy flavour. A little smoke.

M - Gentle carbonation, medium body, dry and sweet finish.

O/D - Pretty decent, flavours meld well and it goes down smooth. Tasty.

From Warners. No BB.

Pours a half finger off white head over a mahogany brown body. Lace clings nicely

Aromas of roast malts and some treacle. Hint of smoke.

Taste is roast malt driven. Some biscuit. Add in some burnt toffee. Mild hop bitterness on back plate a balances out the mainly sweet flavours from malts.

Mouthfeel is real winner. Medium weight, nicely carbonated with a real zest to it making the beer really refreshing for the ABV

Well made beer.

Dark copper colour. Clear. Creamy tan head. Fair head retention.

Slightly metallic and earthy. Fair dose of malt. No real fruit or citrus. Slightly acrid.

Very bitter. Sweet and over caramelised malt. Lacking depth. Oxidised.

Medium body with moderate carbonation. Okay.

Disappointing. Almost a little dull. Lacking freshness and interest on the palate.

On tap at the Sail and Anchor, Fremantle

A - Pours a red-brown caramel amber topped with a thin wispy white head and rings of lacing.

S - Light caramel malt, spice, some roastiness.

T - Follows the nose, liquorice, bitter chocolate, bread, spice and caramel.

M - Light to medium body, reasonably dry finish.

O - Slightly disappointed in this, I couldn't detect anything new or different to indicate the novel brewing technique behind it. Meh.

Interested to try the new stone beer hope its better than last and pours a dark sherry brown hue which leaves a one finger head that doesnt hang around and some sporadic lacing, the smell is molasses, brown sugar, raisins, toffee and dark plums, the mouthfeel is medium bodied and has tastes of burnt toffee, caramel candy, raisins, dark plums, roasted malts and is finished with the bittersweet finish of a black coffee and overall it doesnt look the greatest but im pretty sure to me its better than the last stone beer cheers.

Purchased from Camperdown

Classified as Altbier as can't find anything else more appropriate.

Pours dark brown-red with decent head and lacing.

Smell is reminiscent of Freaks & Geeks. Apple, apple candy, vitamin supplements. Some chocolate and roast. Some rye and bread.

Taste is high on fruity apple esters and roast, chocolate and smoke.

Mouthfeel is sour and slippery and a little astringent.

Unique and not terrible but it has to be asked what they were trying to accomplish with this beer. Doesn't carry any flavours which particularly warrant its existence and I'm just not that keen on ploughing through a whole bottle.
