Supercool IPA employs open fermentation with our house blend of saison yeasts at cool temperatures, allowing the profile to only hint at its Belgian-esque roots. The Supercool drinks like a classic American IPA, with hop character hitting notes of lemon & orange with wood & pine, while the unique processing and yeasts lend background flavors of apricot and white pepper. The bitterness is firm but smooth all the way to the extra dry finish.

Surprisingly floral, with a smooth, almost softly rounded bitterness. This is an IPA like no other. Belgian-inspired gets close, but doesn't quite capture it. Light, delicate, nuanced. Wait for the cedar and fresh orange blossom. Delicious.

Look: It pours light golden with a full white head. Head retention is excellent.

Smell: It has a grapefruit aroma with some earthly elements. There is also some citrus in the background.

Taste: There are some grapefruit flavors with citrus and white wine like elements. There are some background earthly elements.

Feel: It has a moderate body with a rather dry finish.

Overall, it is an interesting combination of IPA like qualities with more background saison elements and the classic dry finish.

i thought this was a delicious ipa, nice to see their beer in the denver market again, but i did not find it to be particularly interesting given the yeasts and the processes used to make it. clear from the tap, brass in color and luster, and with a short but lasting white head on it, pretty glass of beer. the aroma is hoppy all the way, i get almost none of the yeasts they describe, save a light belgian fruitiness that seems to be pretty easily rolled over by the intensity of the hops in here. its at once bitter and juicy in the flavor, heavy orange and pine, oily and fresh, but also intense and gripping to me. the yeast dries the beer out nicely, but to me doesnt have a ton of flavor, and the open fermented aspect is sort of lost to the robustness of the hops here. some saison-esque elements come in at the finish, dry and sort of spicy tasting, but the hops really take charge. i like it being so dry, orange and even champagne notes at the end, oily west coasty bitterness, and a nice smoothness of feel. this is really well made beer, i think i wanted it to be a little more unconventional in the way it presents itself given the yeasts and the process here, but its a great beer even without being particularly interesting in flavor, get some this week while it is here! i found it on tap at the pint room in littleton!

Very fluffy head. Bright, tropical fruit notes (overripe pineapple, fashion fruit), a little pine in the smell. Very fruity taste, with just a touch of bitterness (relative to most American IPA's). Very dry or seemingly so. Tasty.

Growler from the brewery.

A clear light amber with a dense, off-white head with good retention and lacing, this looks solid. The nose is intriguing. I've never been a big fan of the Belgian IPAs, with their riotous spice/bubblegum yeasty notes clashing with the hops, but in this beer, the yeast expression, while clear, does stand reasonably well (though a tad awkwardly) with the hops. A blend of white pepper, straw, some melon and a touch of citrus are present. The malt character is minimal, present mostly as a little bit of bread. The palate opens mildly bitter with a blend of melon, semi-ripe mandarins, and a light floral flavor along with some yeast notes - pepper and straw. The mid-palate has flavors of a light and airy dough, delicate and flavorful, pairing well with the hops. Drying, bitter, mildly astringent on the finish, this beer is medium-light in body and moderately carbonated. Apart from the mildly disappointing finish, this beer is solid.
