This is an absolute phenomenal saison. The nose literally smells so floral you might as well have wild flowers stuck up your nose. The body and finish is ever so elegant with a total wild tea like after taste. YUM!

This is very sharp. Not tart, but acidic enough to feel a burn all the way down. Very perfumey with interesting aroma unidentifiable flowery notes. Pale golden with swirls of foam as you sip from the snifter. Watery mouthfeel.

Fruity tea flavors. A hint of something not quite as strong as chamomile. Kaffir lime comes to mind, or the pitch of a less-fragrant conifer. The bitterness which gradually emerges is surprising, and it keeps on growing in the aftertaste. This is an intriguing herbal brew but it's something less than drinkable. From the 750 ml bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham, Wash.

750mL into a tulip. Pours a hazy pale golden straw w/ a bright white lingering head.

Aroma is bright and herbal, floral. Soft esters, Belgian yeast, pale malt.

Taste is mildly funky, grassy, earthy. Touch of spice and dried flowers. Some juicy orange citrus as it warms. Clean, crisp. Slightly bitter finish from the Old World hops.

Mouthfeel is refreshing and light, drinkable.

Overall a very nice saison.

definitily a drinking experience. A saison with an aroma of a bouquet of flowers. taste is chamomille tea like with a slight spiceness. belgian yeast is overpowered by the added yarrow and calendula, but this is a very floral forward beer.

Pours with heavy carbonation, bright yellow, slightly cloudy - looks exactly how a saison should. Smell is floral and spicy- the calendula flowers give this beer a slightly soapy/perfumey note while the yeasty esters (and perhaps the yarrow?) give off an almost ginger like spiciness. The botanicals give this saison pretty big flavor, but it's a touch too floral/perfumed for my taste. The barrel aged version of this, however, is absolutely beautiful and one you should not hesitate to try.
