The latest release, 2022(?). “Saisons from 2017 and 2019 blended over black pearl cherries.” per the label.

L: Unfiltered, bright reddish-purple body with a soft pink head.
S: Softly sweet, but also tart. Cherry, lots of funk, yeast, and a hint of fruity esters.
T: Quite tart. At first, there’s almost a bit of spice— cinnamon or allspice. A brief rush of sweet fruit becomes tart cherry with a hint of grapefruit and white wine. There’s are funky notes throughout the body, and while the yeast is there it’s not as pronounced as it is on the nose.
F: Nice dry finish.
O: Incredible. Sour, lightly sweet, sharp. This is the only release I’ve had but I’m guessing it lives up to previous years.

Tart and tidy. A subtle sour saison that you could actually session. Like a lot of the Upright output, would be worth spending quality time with (ideally out of doors).

Pours a hazy, peach color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of strong bacterial funk, floral, fruit, yeast, and a hint of sugar. Fits the style of a Saison / Farmhouse Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is a strong tartness as well. Tastes of strong bacterial funk, floral, fruit, yeast, and a hint of sugar. Overall, good aroma, body, blend, and feel, but low complexity.

oh my goodness this is special beer! on tap at the brewery, a funked up version of the four saison, with some nice tangy brett and wild cultures, heavy pinot noir oak, and tart oregon cherries that are boldly dosed. there is so much genius built in here. just barley a little pink in color, the beer is more hazy and straw color than it is fruity looking, with over an inch of rising white head and vibrant carbonation. i smell the fruit right away, basically seamless with the wine here, there are cherry notes in that, and the tannins from that and the wheat compliment and exacerbate the sourness of the bacteria and brett in here, more funk than acid it smells like though, and quite jammy from the cherries. the flavor is the best of both worlds, sweeter fruit up front, downright puckery later on, with a wonderful mix of wild yeasts, seemingly saison driven as much as brett and bugs, but its all there. incredibly dry, sharp just a little, effervescent, and unique. less cherry flavor than aroma, but more wine and oak. improves with temperature and the bubbles never dissipate out. i could drink this by the gallon. what a treat to get to enjoy this one fresh on tap at the brewery! incredible beer, i would love to get my hands on a bottle!

edit: just had what i believe to be the latest vintage of this, the beer must change some from blend to blend, perhaps a different kind of cherry now, darker than i remember the beer being before, its the color of red wine and the fruit flavor is really deep, but the most interesting thing is the blend, its saisons from 2017 and 2019 together in this, neat to blend from different non sequential years, clever, some real old woody saison in the blend, almost lambic level funk there, and then some brighter newer saison, lots of oak and wine character too. this is wicked stuff no matter what version you encounter, among the best of the upright stuff for my money, which is saying a whole lot!
