hill farmstead stemware - bright orange body, some healthy white foam - nice aromas of brett, oak barrel, vinous notes. Flavor profile highlights peach, apricot skin, wine barrel, lots of brett, straw, spice, lemon. A nice beer - happy to have another - wont knock your socks off, but well crafted

Bottle shared by barkingelectron at his sour tasting.

Pours clear gold with a soft pillow of white foam.

Aroma features peach, apple, some citrus with hay a heavy floral scent and pepper.

Grainy up front taste. A little bid of lactic acid although not very sour at all. Some lemon and hay. Oak slightly overpowers some of the more delicate flavors and it finishes floral and pepper a combination I don't really care for.

Low to medium in mouthfeel with ample carbonation.

Not a big fan of the flavor profile and some of the flavors did not mix together very well. Hardly any tartness here and more of the peppery normal saison flavors dominate. My least favorite of the Upright brews I've had so far.

Bottle courtesy of kscaldef.

Pours a night dark golden yellow color with crazy huge white soapy head leaving ridiculously sticky lacing as it slowly slowly recedes. I love sticky looking lacing, it just screams that a good beer is coming; I don't why that is, anyway...

Aromas begin with a ton of sweet and sours smells; I get a lot of citrus rind here. In the background there is some mustiness and some light woody oak. Spot on for a Brett Saison in my book.

The tastes are surprisingly not too sour or tart as I expected with such a big aroma. There definitely is citrus flavors abound here with some more funky grassiness and mustiness. Solid earthiness and oak in the finish.

The mouthfeel is my only detractor on this beer. It drinks a little heavier than most Brett beers and as crazy as the initial carbonation looked, it doesn't show up in the mouthfeel for some reason.

Overall this was really nice and well balanced. My favorite sour of the night for sure (Dissident, Askew, Brute and Oude Tart were sampled as well). I have been meaning to try something from Upright and I am glad I finally did. This was solid enough that I will definitely try more in the future if possible.

Big thanks to starrdogg for sharing this bottle. Served in a SAVOR wine glass.

Pours a nice, clear golden color with a good white head. Some spotty lacing on the way down.

The nose brings forward some nice Brett character along with a bit of oak. Light cherry and other fruit in the background, with the additional of some spice. Flavor has a really nice Brett presence. There's a good earthy dryness along with cherry and light stone fruits. Some floral notes and a bit of light pepper. Light-medium body with good carbonation and a semi-dry finish.

Overall, another fantastic brew from Upright. Excellence is what I expect, and almost always get. Can't wait to visit this place.

750mL bottle poured into a tulip. Bottle #106 of 168. Thanks to Jason for the bottle!

(A)- Pours a hazy golden yellow color. Some nice white froth.

(S)- A nice earthy barrel character. A touch of funk with clay, lemon, and subtle spice.

(T)- A really nice combo of bright peach/apricot and lemon fruits with a subtle funky but mildly sour brett character. Finishes nice and dry with an ever so subtle spicy oak.

(M)- A nice carbonation level and balance. Really nice fruits combined with subtle barrel notes and yeast.

(D)- Overall, just a fun and joyful saison. Super easy to enjoy and vibrant/refreshing.

A big thanks to Luke for this bottle.

A: The beer pours a cloudy orange color with a rather tall white head.

S: A really intense fruit aroma to this beer which is just fantastic. Lots of apples, peaches, and pears with some white grape notes to it as well. Mild oak and tartness with just a little bit of lemon peel and sweet bread.

T: More big fruit character on the palate. The peach flavor is really outstanding with a bit of grape, apple, pear, and lemon zest. A touch of grass and damp oak, a light malt sweetness, and some subtle tartness.

M: Medium bodied with a medium carbonation.

O: An absolutely awesome beer. Great complexity and flavor. Very much enjoyed this one.

Opened at a bottle share. Poured into a snifter. Light straw color. Lots of Brett, floral notes, perfumy. Taste is excellent, straw, fruity tartness. Brett continues thru finish. Dry, pleasantly tart. This has really developed nicely in the past 18 months. Bottle 106/120. Wish I had more.

On tap at the Grain & Gristle the other day.

The barrel aging (was told they use gin barrels) really gives this beer a very different twist. The barrel aging imparts a sour quality, along with some noticeable juniper berry flavor. The alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile, and I was surprised to learn it was in the 8.5% range. There's also some noticeable clove, peach and apricot in the flavor profile, making for a pretty enjoyable saison.

Wouldn't want to drink this all the time, but it was a solid beer that went well with the meat platter we ordered.
