On tap at the Grain & Gristle the other day.

The barrel aging (was told they use gin barrels) really gives this beer a very different twist. The barrel aging imparts a sour quality, along with some noticeable juniper berry flavor. The alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile, and I was surprised to learn it was in the 8.5% range. There's also some noticeable clove, peach and apricot in the flavor profile, making for a pretty enjoyable saison.

Wouldn't want to drink this all the time, but it was a solid beer that went well with the meat platter we ordered.

Thanks to wethorseblanket for sharing this one at mrbubbler's tasting.

Bottle # 119 of 168.

Pours a clear golden-orange with a foamy white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with malt, grain, Brett, funk, and earth aromas. Taste is much the same with sour malt, fruit, Brett, and funk flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with a nice combination of sour fruit and Brett characteristics.

Serving type: bottle.

Bottle 132/168.

Poured a vibrant golden orange. Huge, fluffy white head head settles leaving a ton of lacing and a nice white layer over the beer

Smell is white wine, basement, maybe a little hay.

Taste is beautifully funky. The brett has gone to town on this beer. Wine like, tart grapes then followed by a hint of alcohol warming as it goes down.

This feels so good in the piehole. It's pretty dry and tart enough to make you salivate and jones for the next sip.

This is pretty old at this point and the brett dominates. This beer completely fits all the descriptors of 'funky', 'rustic', farmhouse', etc...It is drinking so fucking good right now. I didn't have one fresh, but this is just insane good. Thank you Upright.

A - Pours a cloudy medium orange with a fluffy off-white, soapy head with great retention.

S - Lots of Brett, funky citrus and oak. Very good.

T - Funky Brett, wood, subtle spice, a touch of sweet malt. Excellent.

D - Tons of carbonation with a light body.

O - Hard for me to describe, but a wonderful Brett beer.
