I made a trip out to Subs & Six Packs on Columbia Avenue the other day & this was one of my discoveries. Yes, it is another bottle, but I am trying to keep them moving as I acquire them.
From the bottle: "Golden Ale".
I gave it a gentle pour since the bottle seemed to have some age on it. Once in the glass, a swirl raised two-plus fingers of foamy, eggshell-white head with modest retention. Color was solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a honey-like sweetness, undoubtedly from the malt. Mouthfeel was medium with a good bit of carbonation in evidence. The taste had a honey-like sweetness with a light grassiness that put me in mind of a lager more than an ale. Finish was semi-sweet, bready, honey-like & a pleasant drink in sum. It was nothing standout, but it was not a clinker, either.

Pours hazy with sediment, bright yellow in color with 1/3 inch head. Tastes like a clean Belgian ale..bread, Belgian spices, coriander, cardamom, orange, and lemon. Nice and easy drinker. I will look for this again.

I enjoyed this from a willybecker at fridge temp and allowed to increase in temperature gradually.
The color is golden bordering on amber with thick white cream head with fine bead and lace sticks.
The smell has a nice amount of malt with a slight fruity yeast aroma with light herbal hop adding a complimentary smell with light spice. The feel is great -moderate carbonation with light body and subtle sweetness with a light spice from yeast and mild bitterness with a dry refreshing finish.
The taste is excellent with subtle toasted malt in the initial flavor with a slight sweet aspect and mild yeast in the middle brings a slight tropical taste but only gently with a slight herbal flavor of hops as it leads to a dry finish which is crisp with a moderately high carbonation level giving a refreshing quality. Overall I was not sure what to expect because golden ale could mean different things to different folks but I like the sessionable quality which is not lacking on flavor-well brewed Belgian style golden/blonde

From the bottle, it pours a slightly hazy amber with a small head. A little malty to the nose and a little malty and yeasty to the mouth. Enjoyable and drinkable.

New release from Evolution. Pours a cloudy yellow. Smells like a Belgian ale. Taste largely follows, with an enjoyable spicy Belgian yeast character. I'm gong to buy more of this one.
