Are you kidding me? Brewer should be embarrassed by this. Fucking terrible, lousy fake pineapple smell and taste, bad mouthfeel. Now I'm not a big fan of fruit and or tropical IPAs in general, but good beer is good beer, period. Had a very tasty scratch pineapple forward IPA my recent visit to Troegs. You can tell the difference between a well crafted beer and something like (I don't even know what to call) this. Come to think of it, their Lot 3 and Lot 6 stink too, though not to this level. Rise Up only good beer I've had from this brewer, but how hard is it to make a good coffee stout? Good thing only bought one $2 single. Give it a zero if I could. Bottle date April 2016 and stored cold, no excuses.

Ugh. I found this pretty gross. Pours a coppery color, pretty opaque. Thin, foamy head that leaves a good amount of lacing. Smell is pretty much Pledge or Lysol, something kind of chemically and lemony. Taste is a little better, I get a little of the pineapple, but mostly another weirdly medicinal grapefruit flavor. There's some biscuit and caramel type malt sweetness to help balance it out, but between the weird chemical smell and taste, I was having a hard time appreciating the subtle sweetness. There's not much in the way of tropical scents or flavors; I was expecting mango, papaya, etc and it's not really there. I think they were going for a resin type flavor/scent, but it missed the mark and just came off as some vague chemical. Feel is medium and has good carbonation, but something is a little harsh about it. It's somewhat difficult to swallow because of intense bitterness and a rough feel going down. Overall, there are way better tropical flavored IPAs out there and this wouldn't be on my list of recommended ones to try.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. bottled 12/12/17, so 2 months old.

Pour reveals a not so good look. Murky brown with amber highlights. The small creamy off white head does leave some decent lacing though.

The aroma is quite malty, but there is something "off" about it.

I'm thinking there might be something wrong with this one. taste is like a malty ale, but not a good one. No hops at all, and no pineapple. Kinda like a bad English style IPA. Oddly enough, it did get a little better when got to room temperature, although the bottle declares "keep refridgerated".

Mouth was a round medium, finish was slightly stale.

Overall, if there is not something wrong with this bottle, and this is how it's supposed to taste after 2 months in the bottle, then this is a pretty bad beer.

A: A dirty, murky orange tan color with an off white head. Really not a very appealing looking beer.

S: Fruity with tropical notes, orange peel, and pineapple. Perhaps a touch of something metallic in the finish.

T: PIneapple, orange peel, and some other tropical fruit flavors, a touch of alcohol, as well as a hint again of the metallic character.. just a hint. It tastes like it was fermented hot.

M: Medium bodied, somewhat lacking in carbonation, a touch of a bitter cling in the finish.

O: Overall a meh beer.. I like pineapple and IPA, but this one seems to be a bit of a murky version.

A pretty typical IPA. The pineapple was not detectable, fruitiness was barely present. I think the only thing to distinguish it was the slightly sweeter taste on the front of the palate.
