Chosen because I though it might have the best chance of going with my crispy crab roll ... Did pretty well, as it happens. Pine'Hop'Le is what it says it is. Lots of Hops and a little pineapple. Just like Crayola Crayons, the second word is the one that's more prominent. Strong hops flavor is balanced by the sweet pineapple, which is still a little more to the tart side. Beautiful golden color, poured very cloudy, so technically I can't see through it. Nice as a curiosity, but won't become one of my go-tos.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. bottled 12/12/17, so 2 months old.

Pour reveals a not so good look. Murky brown with amber highlights. The small creamy off white head does leave some decent lacing though.

The aroma is quite malty, but there is something "off" about it.

I'm thinking there might be something wrong with this one. taste is like a malty ale, but not a good one. No hops at all, and no pineapple. Kinda like a bad English style IPA. Oddly enough, it did get a little better when got to room temperature, although the bottle declares "keep refridgerated".

Mouth was a round medium, finish was slightly stale.

Overall, if there is not something wrong with this bottle, and this is how it's supposed to taste after 2 months in the bottle, then this is a pretty bad beer.

A pretty typical IPA. The pineapple was not detectable, fruitiness was barely present. I think the only thing to distinguish it was the slightly sweeter taste on the front of the palate.

Great west coast ipa! Orangish yellow in color with off white head. Yummy sticky fruity goodness! Lace hangs in glass....sticky sweet residue. Fruit citrus forward with sharp hoppy finish. By far one of my favorite fruit ipas.

Pours a hazy orange color with a dusty white head that laces well. Smell is sweet malts with a vaguely tropical hop overlay. Taste is malt forward with a sweetness behind it. There is a pineapple sweet flavor permeating through it but it is unclear if it is from an additive of pineapple or imparted by hops. Feel is a little sticky but otherwise pretty clean and medium bodied.

In the end this is a west coast IPA that is trying to ride the wave of east coast tropical hop-forward trends. Being steeped in the legit tropical hop movement I am not really impressed. The pineapple flavor is muddled at best and can't get out of the way of the malt. Now, if you are a malt-first beer guy you may enjoy this one as it has a different twist away from the citrus west coast profile, but this New England guy is having none of it.

See through amber look to this brew with a thick tan head from a bottle pour. Very fruity scent with slight pineapple sweetness on the nose. The flavor is ok but it doesn't live up to the nose, not too sweet with the fruit sweetness giving way to a medium bitter ending with some pine astringency. You do briefly taste pineapple before the astringent bitterness takes over. Pretty well carbonated with a medium/thin feel.

12 oz bottle from PA.
Pours with a clear light copper body. Some vigor was needed in the pour to raise a head.
Dynamic and complex flavor profile with some pineapple and other tropical fruits. Moderate bitterness.

12 oz. Draft pour.

It pours a pleasing rich copper that is crystal clear. The head was thin but probably due to the server as I had no trouble generating plenty of antique white foam and lace with a swirl of the glass.

The nose is weak but nice, tropical hops, though not as much hop aroma as I would like, and some caramel malt. The pineapple comes through very lightly with the tropical hop flavors along with sweet caramel and biscuit malt. While fairy sweet there is nothing cloying about the quick, clean finish. A soft medium body with moderate carbonation adds to the ease of drinking these.

I started my afternoon with a couple of these poolside and while probably a bit mediocre it was the best available option at the time and did not let me down.
