A very good imperial does a nice job of covering the high abv with a good dose of hops

Looks good, smells good, but a very bitter aftertaste ruins it for me.

Here's one of those beers... Questionable on the 92-94 rating. I thought this his was a good drinking beer, piney smell, nice color, nice carbonation. About zero head retention, perhaps due to the hot booze in the glass, because it tastes plenty malty. Pine and deep hop resin flavor, paired with sweet malt, what I like to describe as that cream of wheat flavor. Although good, won't be seeking this out soon, 10% abv is good and all, but I find it to be overkill sometimes. Give me an ice cold can of grapefruit sculpin.

Dated 15075=75th day of 2015. It's been years since I last had this. Last time it was a bomber and 9.1%. Now it's a 12oz bottle and 10%
A - frothy ivory head coats the glass with thick lacing as it fades on top of a tangerine colored ale
S - tropical nose with fresh pineapple and mandarin, juicy fruit gum, caramel, faint pine
T - juicy and fruity with pineapple, mango, mandarin orange, caramel, bready malt, pine. Alcohol is very hot and takes away from the great juicy flavors
M - full bodied, again - alcohol is very prominent, finishes quite bitter, as expected, with pine lingering
O - still very good for Sculpin's big brother so to speak, but the harsh booziness needs to be tamed down somehow.
