pours an amber/orange with a solid white head. head retains itself well.

smell is of faint caramel malt and sweet fruity hops.

beer is bitter and has notes of alcohol in it. sweetness to it as well. not overly sweet or bitter. finishes dry and bitter. goes down smooth but alcohol is noticeable.

overall it's a pretty good beer. not my favorite dIPA but still good. the boozy notes cause a slightly less drinkable experience than other high alcohol % dIPAs. good mellow bitterness and sweetness.

This bottle was almost nine months old. To be fair to this beer, I will try to pick up a fresh one and taste it again. It had a nice bitter, crisp hop taste but I could tell something had probably faded with age.

A: Orange-yellow hues with good lacing and a foam head that vanishes quickly. I'm digging the bottle artwork. With so many fish in the sea, these guys are unlikely to be guilty label infringement in the future.

S: Bubble gum, fruit, fresh squeezed hops. After a few more sniffs i'm getting lemon rind.

T: Clean, crisp bittering hops, I am loving this beer.

M: The alcohol is very well hidden behind the well maintained balance of forward hops with slightly malty backbone.

O: Ballast Point where have you been all my life? I just discovered these guys this past year after hearing a lot of chatter about Sculpin IPA. These guys don't make bad beers. Definitely would recommend anything these guys brew.
