On tap at Linda Vista – 8oz pour served in a Tulip style glass

This is a 100% Brett IPA.

A: Lightly hazed golden honey blonde look with some fairly unstable bubble action. Has a few large squeaky bubbles that struggle to retain only slipping back out to a halo around the glass. Low amount of actual stick remains as well.

S: Lots of bright Brett character in the nose with a dominant lemony tang and sourdough bread likeness. I get the fruity dry hops in waves of pineapple, citrus, and apricot with some lesser notes of floral hops. Touch of earthy minerals too. Solid Brett forward aromas while still allowing the fruity hops to blossom.

T: Taste is a wonderful marriage of the Brett yeast and fruity pineapple flavor hops. I am getting lots of tart lemon peel and dried grass with a bit of stone fruit and some sourdough like breads underneath. There is a soft caramel sweetness to the beer mixed in with something slightly metallic toward sthe finish and a dash of vanilla even. Wow just a lot going on in my mouth. Very nicely done with a lower amount of actual perceived bitterness and only a whisper of alcohol to report. This is Brett meets West Coast IPA for sure. Rather Bretty and tropical.

M: The body is moderately filling with a lower carbonation level. Comes off a touch flatter which I have noticed with Brett beers in general. There is a nice drying presence in the finish however. Mostly smooth and clean overall I would say.

D: I was a bit skeptical at first but this is quite the refreshing quaff. Body leaves a little more to be desired but the tropical hops selected go really well with the Brett character here. I hope to see more of this one.
