Had this on tap at the Homebrewmart location - Full pint - served in a BP glass
*Jan 12 2016
Pour arrives a dark root beer brown with a thin layer of dark khaki tan suds that settles out to a nice halo.
The nose is fresh ground coffee with chocolate and undertones of dark roast cereals and brown sugar. Very rich in flavor with a super coffee and chocolate roast character. The body is kept light and silky with a creamy feel and moderate earthy bitterness noticed. Nice depth of warm roast here with with accompanying lactose sugar sweetness to keep it all in good balance. A touch of dark fruit plum like flavor noted. Solid.
Interesting that they ended up going with the IPA route with the Manta Ray. This milk stout version should be packaged for sure.

Half pint on tap at Ballast Point tap room and kitchen in Little Italy. Black, decent head. Smells like a milk chocolate stout. Flavor is very milky, delicious stout. This should definitely be canned asap.
