Fantastic stuff that, IMO, improves upon the original via the extra bit of creaminess and depth given by the horchata addition. Sure, a little dessert-y, but still great.

I really love the feel and aftertaste and the appeal , etc. of the Victory at Sea series of beers but am a bit off put that every 2 seconds they add a different this or that and it gets such a rating. It's all subjective but I really don't think it's worthy of so many different ratings. GO FIGURE. BUT, Victory at Sea is a damn good beer, the variations, blah.

On tap at The Federal Bar in North Hollywood, CA.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, vanilla bean, vanilla syrup, and horchata spice aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa powder, vanilla bean, char, and horchata spice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast and spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with fantastic horchata flavors that make this one a treat to drink.
Serving type: on tap.

Very thick and syrupy with a smooth finish. Sweet but good balance with the alcohol and cinnamon notes. Loved it.
