Had on-tap at the Main Street Pub in Bally. Poured into a goblet.

L: Nearly black pour... 2 fingers of foamy brown head. Great rim of lacing.

S: Rich and roasty... chocolate and peanut butter as promised.

T/F: Rich and roasty... big time porter that drinks almost like a stout. Espresso and cocoa... light peanut butter but definitely present. Mild sweetness to go with the bitter roast but it doesn't drink like a dessert. Medium bodied... rich and sticky. Finish is more bitter coffee laced with peanut butter and cocoa.

O: A big flavorful porter... interesting mix of flavors that mostly worked... and that only because the peanut butter isn't overpowering. A sipper... one I'd enjoy occasionally but not regularly. Glad I got to try it!

On tap. Tan head. Dark brown color.

Peanut butter all around. I like it. Kind of dessert like. Coffee roast as well. Lots of chocolate and caramel.

Medium bodied. Ends a tad dry and roasted. The peanuts cover up the vanilla in this one.

On tap at The Federal Bar in North Hollywood, CA.

Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, peanut butter, and chocolate peanut butter cup candy aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa powder, roasted peanut, and chocolate peanut butter cup candy flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer that smells and tastes almost exactly like a chocolate peanut butter cup candy.

Serving type: on tap.

On tap at Ballast Point – Miramar, SD
06/25/2015 - Served in a tulip glass

A: Dark brown body with a ruddiness running through it. Not much unlike the color of roasted coffee bean really. A thin layer of khaki tan

S: This is peanut butter cookie dough meets vanilla crème, roast malt/grains, and dat sweet specialty coffee from Calabria. Some nuanced milk chocolate notes but the peanut butter is nicely present and abounding here. Smells sweet and decadent but also manages to come together in a unified dessert like aroma.

T: Tastes much the same with a peanut butter chocolate cake likeness. This is quite incredible actually. Toasted peanut and sweet cookie dough with vanilla beans, roasted grains, and espresso gourmet. Light syrupy sweet overall but with an earthy hop bitterness lending to a crisper finish and the high alcohol content fairly well managed here. I am pretty amazed at how well the peanut butter works with the chocolate, coffee, and vanilla flavors. Super rich without becoming too filling.

M: Semi thick and full bodied but with a lighter to moderate feel overall. The beer has a moderate amount of perceived bitterness and some light warmth from the well-hidden alcohol. Finishes dryer and mostly clean with a light sleekness coating the palate.

D: This is an incredibly nice treat. Especially for any one into dessert beers. I mean its [email protected] and Peanut Butter. Super rich and decadent without being too sweet or unfavorable. As a Victory at Sea variant this is one of the best I have tried yet and as a peanut butter beer one in the same. Definitely worth checking out if you can.
