this beer is bangin! one of the best of the seemingly endless stream of fruited ballast point beers that have been rolling out since their acquisition. ive been generally fairly negative towards the other ones, much preferring the base beers to most of the slightly gimmicky variants, but this one is amazingly delicious. the mango is very forward and very ripe, always seems like mango is in conjunction with some other more powerful fruits like pineapple or passion, and its lost. here its on its own and its really vibrant and forward, even in front of the hops. so sweet and tropical up front, honey notes and the fruit together, a little more of a caramel type malt base than i expected for such a low alcohol beer. the hops are awesome too, juicy and citrusy, and not even a little bit bitter. the fruit and the hops together are a perfect marriage, each one really prominent and fresh, this is summer beer for sure. i am not sure i have had the regular even keel, but i cant imagine it being better than this. the mango is the perfect fruit and the amount of it is perfect as well. i love how low alcohol it is too. one of the best sessions of the summer this year!

A beer most real craft beer aficionados will probably hate on. For me, this is my favorite out of all the Ballast Point brews I've tried.

Some fruity beers are sweet which immediately turns me off. I want the flavor of fruit without the sugary shandy taste. Too many of these sweet fruity beers just taste like cheap wine.

This beer on the other hand, just tastes good. It's NOT sweet. It's a creamy mango taste. It doesn't taste watered down at all. It actually tastes quite bold for a 3.8% abv beer. Very apparent pleasant mango taste and smell. Kinda a vanilla thing goin' on too but mainly tasty mango fun.

With all the mango flavor, this still tastes like beer. It leaves you with a mango taste that then turns bitter, reminding you that you are in fact drinking beer.

This is one of my favorite beers I've tired recently and I see this as something I will consistently drink for years to come.

12oz can, which may or may not be the best choice (pleasure vs. cost analysis) right now for we Albertan beer cognoscenti, eh?

This beer pours a clear, bright medium copper amber colour, with a teeming tower of puffy, rocky, and somewhat bubbly off-white head, which leaves some stellar, tightly webbed lace around the glass as it very slowly ebbs away.

It smells of fresh, pungent mango flesh, gritty and grainy pale malt, a bit of lesser domestic orange and white grapefruit additions, subtle earthy yeast, and tame earthy, leafy, and sort of piney green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy pale malt, a still understated yeasty thingamabob, some rather reduced mango and other meek tropical fruitiness, weak copra esters, and more leafy, weedy and somewhat floral hoppiness.

The carbonation is gentle in its plain and sort of subservient frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and mostly smooth, nothing really taking the time to mess around here, it would seem. It finishes well off-dry, the fading mango essence kind of disappointing amongst the still sturdy grainy malt.

Overall, a fairly refreshing and enjoyable summertime tipple, the sort more agreeable, I'm guessing, when one's so-called better half doesn't up and interrupt for an hour or so of 'conversation' in the midst of it all. Fuck. Anyways, a good and tasty brew - I wish I had another dozen or so to put back now, for various obvious and lesser so reasons.

Pours golden yellow with decent foamy head and medium lacing. Smells wonderful, loads of hops and mango with a light floral mix. Taste is awesome, this is a perfect mix of mango and hops, its not overdone, just a nice mix of fruit but still solid hoppy beer flavors. Getting a little honey flavors and floral sweetness, the finish is light and mild carbonation. Overall a great beer for long day in pool or at party outside, very nice!

A twelve ounce can with no visible date code poured in a 12oz. snifter tulip.

Look- Pours a lively amber color with two fingers of frothy off white foam. It slowly settles revealing thick lacing.

Smell- Mango, some floral, sweet malt.

Taste- Caramel malt heavy with some artificial and acidic tasting mango. A bit of floral perfume in the finish.

Feel- Acidic with a slightly bitter bite.

Overall- In three words, not a fan. With no date, I have no idea about freshness, but it was a recent purchase by a friend. A very artificial and malty taste that doesn't do anything for me.

on tap at the Miramar brewery tasting room. - poured deep golden hue with creamy off-white head. full clarity. aromas is all mango and hoppy fruitiness. like a mango jello (amazing). taste is herbal and fruity balanced by malt sweetness. right on! mango flavors are there, not overwhelming with subtle bitterness. medium light body, but no watered down sensation (as in some SIPAs), smooth and crisp carbonation. bitterness and fruity flavors explode on the palate before a dry finish with lingering bitterness. - I love this beer! and at 3.8% I can drink these all day. brilliant!

This beer is a fine interpretation of a fruit infused IPA, and it's also the perfect craft beer for those who want a refreshing beer without getting drunk. Perfect for the ballpark or picnics
Looks: Somewhere between yellow and copper. Nice soapy head
Aroma: Blows me away with fruit. Popped the top and you can smell the fruit a mile away. Bringing it in closer you get citrusy and floral notes
Taste: Lots of mango (shocker). Citrus and a very subtle sweetness to balance it out. A little bitter bite on the finish
Feel: For a beer that's less than 4 percent, it was not too thin. It was smooth. Good carbonation
I've had 6 percent beers that weren't as flavorful. This isn't a bad beer at all and I'm quite glad I picked up an 8 pack of this

The sweet, fruity aroma (4.25) filled with floral notes came barreling out of the glass as the beer hit bottom and was detectable at arm's length. The golden, orange color belied a maltiness that based on the ABV was not and could not be there. The coarse head receded to a thin tight layer which provided sporadic lacing (3.75). The bitterness was complimented by candied fruit slice sweetness, very big for a session beer (4). Feel was a bit viscous and tacky which worked with the flavor but detracted from its refreshing quality (3.75). Overall an excellent season beer. Always impressed when a brewer can do so much without relying on jacking the abv (4.25).

Beer just tastes super artificial. Doesn't really compare to any of the other fruited ballast point beers, sculpins, etc. not a bad beer for that abv, but just way to artificial. Couldn't drink more than one.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a Lagunitas mason glass

L: Clear medium golden copper pour. Two fingers of foamy white head. Great lacing.

S: Lots of mango and fruit... sweet and bready. Mild citrus.

T/F: This one definitely tends to the juicy side of things. Mango clearly present... more than in many supposed 'mango' IPA's. Tropical fruits and mild citrus are the prominent flavors with more malt richness than expected. Thin in body which was a given with the sub 4% ABV. Finish is almost caramel sweetness.

O: For a mango Session IPA... very not bad, and up to Ballast Point's usual quality. Not one I'd reach for often, but if you're looking for a low ABV beer that you can drink a lot of this one is way better than your typical light fare.

From a 12oz can. Pours a pleasant copper-amber color with a light head that quickly dissipates. Lots of tropical fruit on the nose mixed with a little Juicey Fruit sweetness. Palate is very similar but with a nice hoppy bitter finish. With a very low abv, this is the perfect session pale ale -- lots of flavor to spare. Terrific.

I've liked every Ballast Point beer I've tried.
Until this one.
Started out OK. Gold color with a small white head.
Sweet fruit and floral hop aroma.
Tasting it, I'm thinking mango and hops don't go well together, The beer is too bitter and metallic tasting. No more of these for me.

12 oz can...numbers on the bottom really make no sense to me (16013 13:02)

Pours with a moderate haze, oatmeal hued and moderate sized head, leaves thicker strands of lace.

I get apricots on the nose...or some kinda fruit

Easy drinking ale, fruit tastes kinda artificial and its messes the taste on this one....not my favorite brew from BP, as Woody said "gimme a Sculpin"

Pours clear, gold in color, with 1/2 inch head. Taste is big mango, grapefruit, orange rind, and light leafy hops. Really light bodied. Goes down way to easy. Mango works well with the hops. A lot better than pineapple Sculpin. I would reach for this if I wanted a session IPA.
