Our Unfiltered Sculpin IPA packs extra hops into every sip, enhancing the classic Sculpin notes of fresh apricot, peach, mango and lemon with a slight haze and less bitterness. Freshness is key to every beer, but especially true for this extra-hopped IPA—store cold and drink soon.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Medium golden and hazy, small foamy head. Aroma is sharp citrus with hints of hops. Taste brings more citrus, sharp bitter bite. About as expected, unfiltered process adds a bit more heft to the body.

Had at the Long Beach Brewery. Enjoyed it, maybe even more so than the original. I feel as though the fruit notes come through more than the original.

Look: Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Finger thick lacing, deep golden orange color. Very nice.

Smell: Very sweet and fruity. Hints of orange, apricot, peach, hops, grapefruit, and light pine. This almost smells as fruity as a citrus IPA.

Taste: Strong initial taste of hops and apricot. Lingering taste of orange and peach with a nice peppery bite. Bitter, but much less so than I expected from this one. Very refreshing and drinkable, not heavy.

Feel: Perfect carbonation level, not thick or thin. Ever so slightly sticky. Very pleasant.

Overall: Very fruity and light. Not what I expected from this at all, but I like it more than their traditional Sculpin. This is going to find its way into my go to rotation for sure.
