A-Pours a orange/gold with a thick white head. It leaves some lacing, but not a thick lacing, all the way up the glass.

S-Citrus hops, grapefruit dominates and just a hint of some tropical notes. It has a pretty strong nose.

T-Like the nose, grapefruit dominates with just some slight hints of tropical flavors such as mango/pineapple. Grapefruit/citrus hop flavor overwhelmingly dominates the flavor profile. There is a decent malt backbone but the hops really dominate.

M-Perfect balance of thickness and syrup with carbonation.

D-I could drink this forever but it was $7 per pint so I only had one.

Overall, I was a little disappointed at first because I expected more tropical flavors. However, after I ordered another IPA I truly realized how great Sculpin is. The hops really stand out and dominate. I think it really is one of the best IPAs I've had.

Poured from a bottle into a DFH IPA glass.

L: A vibrant orange-gold with several fingers of light tan head, with lots of rising carbonation rising up the beer. Looks pretty close to a perfect IPA

S: Delicious pine citrus notes, some mellow resinous aromas as well

T: An almost even split in taste between the resinous flavors and the pine-citrus flavors. Some light lager-ish malt characteristics as well.

F: A great mouthfeel, a moderate amount of carbonation, medium-full body, smooth.

O: A really great IPA, one that I would buy again (and did...I didn't review any from my first 6-pack, bought a second one today, "so I could review")

Appearance: Nice clear golden color with a short white head that leaves tons of lacing

Smell: Pine, herbal, and citrus hops up front, in a very beautiful bouquet

Taste: Hops greet you warmly, pine and resin bitterness, with a nice citrusy follow up, with some light malt backbone.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body, nice full carbonation that suits the style well

Overall: Excellent. A world class brew. The only thing stopping this from being a go to IPA for me is the price, but even at that it is tempting.
