Bottle, enjoyed with dinner in Anaheim.
A nice surprise to find a highly ranked beer in unexpected places.
Poured a hazy, golden orange color. Foamy white head lasts well, thick strings of lace.
Aroma is all hops, tropical fruits, pine, citrus.
The flavor has lots of hops as well. Citrus, pine, grapefruit, but still a solid malt base.
Very flavorful, and easy to drink despite the high amount of bitterness. No discernible alcohol burn. Nicely drinkable.
Light towards medium body, good mouth feel. Bitter finish.
This is a fine example (BA Score 98) of the American IPA.

Note to self: Ranked #6 American IPA when I got to try it. We shall see if it can hold its place.
Rated #123 of Top 250 Beers

One of my favorite IPAs. Tasted from bottle, can and growler pour, and absolutely delicious. It's a light copper color with a few fingers of head. Scents of citrus and pine. Taste is balanced, but definitely demonstrates that pleasant hoppiness you expect in a top IPA. Perfectly carbonated and a dry finish. A must for any true IPA drinker.

On tap, Into a shaker pint, at the Union Taphouse in the Gaslamp district

A: gold orange, with a minimal head (curse the bartender)
S: nice and hoppy, with some apricot, sharper citrus, some earthy floral notes too.
T: great grassy notes, some citrus pith, a bit of pale malt in the front half to provide some balance, then the end has a nice aggressive bitterness that provides some prickliness on the tongue; bright, citrus rind, and a good bite but not at all overwhelming.
Very quaffable and refreshing, with some different interesting notes to taste and comes together nicely.
Better on tap than what I've had from bottles back in the midwest. This is outstanding.
