A: Pours a pretty golden tangerine color with a finger and a half of head. Cloudy. Nice lacing.
S: Sweet and citrusy. Mango and grapefruit predominantly on the nose. Powerful at first then fades off a bit. Beautiful smell.
T: Awesome! Beautiful balance with the malt sweetness and the hop bitterness. I taste citrus and tropical fruits like mango and pineapple.
MF: Balanced and smooth. Super drinkable for 7% ABV. Maybe a bit less carb than I'd like.
O: The definition of a West Coast IPA, and I think it ranks above Stone's IPA in my book with a little better malt backbone. This is awesome!

I drank this in a blind taste test along with Jai Alai, 60 Minute, Hop Nosh and SweetwaterIPA. All impressive IPAs. Sculpin ranked just below Jai Alai for me. Those two definitely stood out.

look: 4.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

Bottle marked SC 421 14022 at 45 degrees into a standard pint glass
Aroma of red pine
Head average (3 cm), off white, creamy with rocks, slowly diminishing to uneven ring
Lacing good – uneven rings with many gaps, tiny bubbles
Body medium yellow, clear
Flavor begins with a distinct pine terpene taste with no alcohol, malt, or diacetyl noted. It ends with a chalky astringency. No alcohol after burn is noted.
Palate is light to medium, watery, lively carbonation

A very attractive beer to both the nose and eye. The taste is not very complex, being basically piney. Overall, an easy drinking IPA.
