A super light beer. A little malty, kiss of hops, no adjuncts! This ain't your father's piss water, it's new skool light beer with flavour and zero citrus, juicy, hazy b.s. going on. I highly recommend you give it a taste, it's better than bud light, Miller light and coors light amongst others. Well done Ballast Point.

12 oz can- Pours clear golden with minimal head leaving a collar. Aroma is clean, no adjuncts, grainy, mildly sweet but overall appealing. The taste is same, clean and crisp, grassy, lightly hoppy, lemon finish. I can see drinking this in a beer session.

it seems like every craft brewery is doing one of these now, an american lager that is decidedly not a pilsener type. i am all for it, i think the yellow beer has its place in the fridge at all times, and to have so many cool craft options out there right now to fill that role is awesome. this one isn’t as crisp or flavorful as many of the others i have had from this recent wave, but I like it, and its crushable. the lager yeast here doesn’t have a lot of flavor, and the hops are only minimal, its more about a clean pale malt base with a fast finish, some minerals to it, even lightly metallic, but its gone on the swallow and is rather refreshing when its ice cold, even if it’s a bit plain and kind of dumbed down for me, especially next to the rest of the beers in their lineup. i cant hate on an easy drinking yellow beer, and this particular one would have resonated with me a lot more a couple of years ago, but there are so many good ones now that im not sure ill be in a hurry to select this one again. offerings available locally from the likes of la cumbre, station 26, and even sierra nevada render me unlikely to buy this one for the fridge, but I am glad it exists, and pretty solid for under 100 calories!

Aroma is grains/malts, mild fruit and beery. The flavor is sweet grains/malts, mild fruit, a macro corn edge and a beer/smooth/kind of afterthought finish.

With only 99 calories, the brew does a good job of maintaining taste. The flavor is light and has shades of malt, bitter hops and nutty grain. Not a beer I would drink regularly, but if I was wanting a light beer this would be a solid option.

From the 568 ml. can dated 02 April 2019. Sampled on May 16, 2019.

Golden yellow pour with a slight hazy, good clarity, and a modest, fading white head with lacing.

The aroma brings out a corn quality, grass, toasted bread, and a slight citrus character. Smells clean.

Light body and refreshing.

The taste is sweet and grainy with a mild to moderate, clean, crisp finish. Really quaffable.

Disappointing. Expected more from the brewer.

That said, the price was right, it's just light beer, and it's among the best I've had. Up there with Sam Adams Light. For what that's worth.

Poured out of a can. No head. That pretty much torpedoed any upside in the review. Didn't otherwise seem unintended.

Pretty efficient though, alcohol to calorie ratio. Again, for what that's worth.

You can certainly do worse for light beer.

Light yellow color with white cap and lacing.

Mild aroma of barley malt and airy floral hops.

Flavor also evokes the word mild. Malt presence is about halfway between little and full which is to say they're in the chorus but not singing very strongly. Tune is really carried by hops which present a firm bitterness while retaining the floral aspects found in the scent. Short finish that is bone dry and very refreshing.

Light to medium texture with a bit more than average carbonation.

I cannot really tell if the carbonation is more than usual or if the grain flavor is just not that hearty but the bubbles are more apparent than usual. To me this is a defined product which is to say low carbs and to achieve that means less malt which means less flavor. The flavor it has is good and the beer is otherwise about as good as any in that class so the goal is achieved. Just depends on what class you want to be in and I prefer advanced.

L - Tons of clarity, pale golden with fizzy white top
S - Some cracker and wheat
T - Pick an AAL and think of how that tastes.
F - Light bodied with a moderate to high amount of carbonation. Refreshing as water is I guess.
O - Tastes like a re-badged AAL. Pretty piss poor to be honest. Shame on Ballast Point for this one

DATE: July 14, 2019... OCCASION: took this one to hang with the Morgans--and after this weekend, a 99-calorie beer seems about right... GLASSWARE: nondescript pokal... pours a roiling, thick, foamy white head that turns to a craggy uneven halo... its streaming bubbles suggest a freshness amid its clear, golden body... lime and grapefruit, pine and honeyed grain malts elicit a crisp, even, alluring aroma... smooth, sparkling and a bit dry--yet the finish lingers with a sweetness that stays and engages... this is an easy-drinking, light to medium-bodied lager that refreshes while it fills... the flavor profile is big enough, with the Apollo hops bringing pine and pineapple to the fore, with enough honeyed oat malts to sweeten the deal... having had mostly IPAs from BP, this is a bit of a departure, but I like its body, given its low ABV and strength of flavor... a good summer choice.... App - golden color, brilliant. Coarse bubbles and a rocky white head with decent retention. 4/5

Aroma - soft bready aroma, clean. Subtly sweet. 3.75

Taste - Nice soft malt flavor, any hop flavor very muted. Balanced in the finish. Clean and with minimal flavor - very macro lager like. 3.75

MF - Fairly light body and high carbonation. Great combo for a thirst quenching beer - carbonation dries out the finish. 4

Overall - A bit of a novelty to try a craft brewed, all malt generic lager. Clean tasting and without rough edges, but is it vastly better than much cheaper macro lagers? You be the judge.
