If you like coriander then you will like Wahoo. It's not for everybody including me. I read a review that thought it was skunky and that was my first impression but mine was fresh. My first pillar of beer is If you have to add a flavor to the basic beer formula you are taking a chance. It is not for me and I had no preconceptions because...oops...I did not read the label. I am not partial to cloudy beers although I don't discount them on first go but if you make it unfiltered you better get it right. Sorry. Not right

Hazy yellow color with off-white head. Aroma is mostly yeasty with coriander and wheat notes. Taste follows with coriander, quite intense yeast flavors and slightly bitter finish. Light body with medium carbonation. Overall it's a true to style witbier with a good amount of coriander but a bit too yeasty for my taste.

Appearance: A very hazy shade of bright yellow/pale orange.

Overall: Aroma is orange fruit with noticeable wheat and a lightly sweet cereal scent. The flavor is refreshing yet complex with fruit and citrus flavors jumping out. This beer is light and crisp, yet genuinely refreshing. Very nice beer for a hot day.

Had it on tap at the Station House in Forrest Hills, NY.
Pours a hazy straw and slightly orange color. The modest bubbly head soon dissipates into a very thin and broken ring like lace that soon disappears. The aroma is kind of clean at first with only a mild scent of orange peel. Then, a sweet honey, floral and perfume like aroma hit the nose and is pleasant.
This is a light bodied and crisp beer. The taste is typical Witbier; orange peel, wheat and coriander.
Overall, this is a beer that is easy to drink. It is certainly light enough to be a session, however, due to the thin body and non complexity of the taste, I do not find it flavorful enough to have more than one of.

The beer comes in a hazy pale gold color.

The aroma hits of banana, clove, orange peel, sweet crackery malt, coriander, grain, wheat, honey.

The flavor follows with a crackery malt, hints of sweetness, orange peel, coriander, a bit of pepper, a dry finish with hints more of wheat flavor.

A medium minus to light mouthfeel without much body to speak of.

Poured a hazy yellowish color with a thin head that dissipated quickly and left minimal lacing (but that seems to be a hallmark of the style, so I can't fault it too much). Smell was a lot of clove, some faint fruit (banana and orange mostly), and bread. Not as much clove in the taste, which was nice because clove can get overwhelming quickly, but there's some other spices I can't quite identify along with citrus fruit. Prickles the tongue nicely with both the spices and the light mouthfeel. Overall, really refreshing and easy to drink.

Cloudy grainy pour with a white one-finger head. Aroma of yeast and grain. Taste follows the nose with grain upfront backed by light banana, coriander and clove.

L (4) - Clear to almost cloudy light yellow colored beer. Not much head, but what there is, is bright white. Really looks like a cider, in color.
S (4.5) - A spicy, almost peppery smell. A little bit of straw or unroasted grain smell to it. Intriguing!
T (4.5) - Tastes like it smells. At first, nice grain and yeasty taste. Finishes with that peppery taste. Very nice!
F (4) - A little too carbonated for my liking. But an easy drinking beer nonetheless.
O (4.25) - I had been putting off this beer in lieu of others in my cellar. But I really enjoyed it. I'm not a connoisseur of this type of beer, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and will probably buy again.

A - pours a cloudy straw colored yellow with a white head that quickly fades.

S - Yeast, grains, fruity, banana.

T - Yeast forward, spices, coriander, lemon grass, banana, fruity, balanced by semi sweet malts, and finishes light bodied and crisp on the palate.

O - Solid offering that reps the style well.

Pours a slightly hazy pale straw producing a strong finger of white, finely bubbled, shortlived head that leaves no lace. Aromas is cracker, wheat, lemon, banana, orange zest, white fruits, coriander, clove, pepper, floral/herbal & grass. Taste is similar to nose but more robust: bread, wheat, lemon, white fruits, banana, orange, coriander, clove, pepper, grass & yeast. Finishes peppery & a little tart with hints of bread, citrus, banana & coriander. Afrertaste is nice balance of malt, spice & yeast. Mouthfeel is medium body & carbonation, creamy, smooth yet with enough spice to make it lively in the finish.

different and far better than a great many of the american takes on this style we see in circulation. the oats are a big deal here, cloudy, thick, a little sweet, and fluffy, they really do add a lot to this one. it looks normal for what it is, but has a great aroma that is entirely yeast driven. less fruit and sugar than a lot of them have, cleaner and spicier at the same time, but also really delicate beer at the same time. notes of fresh cereal, white grape, lemongrass, lime leaf, basil, eucalyptus, and cream soda all jump out in the flavor, but despite all that, its not overly complex, just nuanced to high heaven and majorly crushable. low alcohol and alive in feel, its a classy beverage with a ton of character and a zippy crispness thats uncommon in a beer with this much texture. oats are an awesome addition. i know they do a lot of different stuff with this, chilies and ginger and all, but it really doesnt need any of that. a wonderful summer session beer, less hoppy than almost all the other stuff these guys make. big fan.

Love BP. Hate whites. Expected to hate this more than I did. Came in a variety pack, figured it would be gross, but not bad. I didn't finish it, but I just hate that white ale taste. For a white, pretty good and BP comes through again.

Severely dented can brought back on a trip to Seattle, WA.

Look : What a beautiful white grapefruit juice looking body, with generous sediment and a 60% transparency. The head is huge, fluffy, and creamy. It leaves lace in sparse licks on the sides of the glass. I don't think there's much I'd change about this.

Smell : Fluffy pillow clouds of nectar here. Oranges and orange peel, yeast, wheat, spices, cilantro, nut. Medium strength.

Taste : Starts off fairly thin and lager-ish with pale malts, but mid-palate the clove and yeast come out, with baked biscuit crumbs near the finish. The finale is baked and sourdoughy.

Feel : Well-carbonated, but a little too lightweight in the feel. A bit thin, with a pleasant acidity, and a brushed toasty finish.

Overall : Seemed to be a superior brew until the main categories failed to deliver. I would opt for a different Witbier if I was in the area again. Still, not a bad third or fourth choice.

I'm shocked this is rated so low... I thought this was spot on as a Weisse. After my first sip I thought I was back in High School in Garching Germany sneaking into the teachers' lounge to raid their beer fridge. sharp crisp flavor; the mouthfeel was great... Well done Ballast Point, went into this with low expectations and you had me dreaming of Bavaria. Hmmm... Good job.

Poured from 12oz can into my Val-Dieu goblet.

Appearance: silvery-white hue with a light haze and effervescence. Head pours a thin layer of frothy white foam.
Color's nice but head is nothing special.

Smell: nice and refreshingly wheaty with just a hint of fruity esters. I like it.

Taste: much like the aroma, the flavor is subdued yet satisfying. It's got a good wheaty character with just a hint of graininess and a hint of banana. Not bad at all.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent level of carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: while this beer is not particularly intense in any dimension, it is very drinkable. I feel like I could quaff a sixer of this at the beach, no problem.

Pours a hazy gold. Outstanding head volume, very poor lacing and retention.

Outstanding nose of coriander with hints of wheat coupled with orange.

Heavy light body with a bit of smoothness in the texture. Slightly below normal carbonation with a hint of effervescence in the middle and a fair burst in the finish.

The outstanding flavor profile is a bit weak on intensity, fairly complex and perfectly balanced. It begins with a moderate sensation of slightly spicy coriander that adds orange undertones as it progresses towards the middle. The middle produces a balancing biscuit that just hints at sweetness. The finish is a slow fade of subtle orange.

Pure refreshment.

Pours a very light, verging on white color. Head suds up a little bit but then subsides immediately. Very little lacing. It's a wheat beer.

The smell is delicious. Coriander and orange peel backed by moderate hops for balance and the underlying wheat malt.

The taste is awesome. It is perfectly refreshing after working out on a hot day.

The feel is thin, but combined with the flavors makes for a very refreshing ale.

Overall, this ale is terrific.

Look: Pours a pale straw with a quickly diminishing white head.
Aroma: Coriander up front, orange peaking through.
Taste: Sightly tangy with just the right amount of orange.
Feel: Medium high carbonation.
Overall: Refreshing and a great example of the style. A little pricey for the low ABV.

Bottle Poured into a BarrelHouse Brewing Co pint glass

A: Pours pretty darn clear light straw with a fizzy white head that quickly disappears.

S: Light citrus and fruity notes, some spice, wheat, a little yeasty, a bit tart, but also a touch of sweetness.

T: Light citrus, orange zest and lemon, a little coriander spice, bubble gum, slightly tart, nice tangy wheat, and some yeasty goodness.

M: Light to medium body, prickly moderate carbonation. Pretty crisp.

O: Tame, but in a good way. It isn't overwhelming with the traditional banana/clove character. Just a nice clean refreshing wheat beer, perfect for warm summer days.

Not a fan of whitbier but I to try since it is Ballast Point. Pour true to style, straw yellow with thin fizzy head.

The smell is a bit more mild than most whitbier. Faint coriander and spice but not too strong.

The taste is pretty good. I guess I'm not a huge fan of coriander and over the top spice and this beer has just the right amount.

It's a very mild beer with enough taste to know you are drinking a white beer but not overpowering enough to make you sick of it after 1 beer.

Nice job by ballast point on this. Still not a huge fan of the style but this is pretty good..

12 oz. bottle into a pilsner glass. Clear, straw yellow in color with lots of carbonation. Virtually no head. Weak nose, but hints of lemon, grass, straw, citrus, and coriander sneak out. Light weight, with an expectedly crisp, carbonated mouthfeel. There's a subtle tartness initially with notes of salt, orange, lemon, and light citrus. Finishes clean and crisp with a grassiness on the back end. The aftertaste is dry and quite sweet.

Overall, not bad. Not one of my favorite styles, but still satisfying.

The body on this straw-colored Witbier is uncharacteristically clear; it is slightly hazy, and what haze there is seems to be mostly chill haze. A thick white pebbly head settles quickly to a thin head that lingers. The nose is predominately wheat and orange, with underlying banana/clove spice and a hint of coriander. On the palate the spice comes to the forefront, but is still rather subdued, leaving plenty of room for the clean wheat flavors to show through. The finish is balanced, wheat-forward with hints of alcohol and spice, and linger is negligible. The mouthfeel is a bit bigger than one would expect for the style; the carbonation is peppery and on-point. This is a very clean, drinkable Witbier with all of the appropriate flavor notes and a good balance between the spice and the wheat backbone.

Appearance: Very good clarity for a Witbier; there is just a slight haze around the edges of shapes but I can read through this. The head is a short white fluffy cap. The body is a light gold color.

Smell: It has a very characteristic wheat tangy aroma (even though that's usually associated with a taste) and a pungent clove smell. There's a bit of a Cheerios aroma. Pretty average smelling. I feel that it's important to note that the label mentions orange peel and coriander. I don't pick up any coriander at all.

Taste: It has a very mild flavor profile. That Cheerios flavor comes out the most and then there is a bit of clove flavor at the end. I'm not getting any coriander flavor at all.

Mouthfeel: It is a bit thin and watery feeling.

Overall: I wouldn't say it's a bad beer but it's more of a "middle of the road" beer. Nothing really stood out and it didn't strike me as a fresh beer. I didn't see a date code on the bottle so that could have something to do with it. I wouldn't pick it up again.
