Appearance - rich copper mahogany color with tan head

Smell - caramel, pine, grapefruit, spicy herb

taste - caramel, pine, grapefruit, tea

Mouthfeel - medium bodied, high carbonation, crisp, clean, sweet upfront, bitterness in the back to give this beer a nice balance

Overall - One of the better amber ales that I've had. I look forward to drinking this again in the future

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a standard pint.

A: Light brown hue. Pours a 1 finger, foamy, brown-white head. Settles quickly leaving a smattering of bubbles on the surface. Spotty, yet persistent lacing.

S: Plenty of molasses, a little peat, tea leaf, and butterscotch.

T: Light oaky malt, really peaty, grass, and a little hop.

M: Light yet hearty. A bit of a steely finish.

D: Worth savoring.

Atmosphere is really strong. Nice foamy head, with some fair spotty lacing. Great nose consisting of sweet components, balanced with peat. Woody and peaty with a character of fresh flora, a a bit of a hop bite. A little shallow, steely, and bitter in the finish which I normally wouldn't consider characteristic of the style.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a hazy amber; fluffy off-white head that fades very slowly and leaves great lacing and retention. The aromas are full of sweet caramel malts and toffee. There's some butterscotch in the mix as well. Lots of breads too. The flavors seem to match the nose. This is a very earthy and rustic beer. More caramel and toffee. There's a little bit of cocoa noticeable. Tons of flavorful malts. There's a very subtle hop bite to this one. Lots of resin. This is full flavored, there's not hiding around it. Although this is a light beer, this one has some body to it! Feels medium-bodied; very creamy with active carbonation.

This is an extremely robust beer at 5% abv. It's well crafted and they didn't take any short cuts. Well crafted and very impressive. Recommended.
