12 oz bottle. Pours amber with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of citrusy hops, orange marmalade and caramel malt. Body is medium and crisp. Citrusy, herbal hops, caramel and bready malt and ripe fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long, dry, and grapefruity. I liked Sculpin much better.

For the price point, I prefer Big Eye over Sculpin. I'm not sure why I don't drink it more often. It's readily available so I pass it up sometimes. I need to stop doing that.

Appearance: Darker burnt orange color. Finger and a half of head on the pour. Sticky rings of lacing left behind at each level. Lower active carbonation for the style.

Smell: Signature nose of a classic American IPA. Bitter pine, medium bodied tropical fruits, and caramelized malt. All fairly well balanced with the bitter pine and resin winning out in the end. Saturated citrus opens up as the beer warms a bit.

Taste: Orange peel and some zesty citrus and lime on the front. Sweeter tropical fruits pop out on the body and are accompanied by some heavier, bitter pine and resin. Caramel and some light toffee sweetness comes in on the back end and lingers long after drinking.

Mouthfeel: Bitter pine runs throughout. Some fruit and malt sweetness poke their head in through and most notedly on the finish. Carbonation is fitting.

Overall: A classic old school american IPA. Has the pronounced pine bitterness with plenty of brighter fruit hop notes. If you are a fan of Centennial I highly recommend this one for you.
