definitely the old school kind of white ipa, a hoppy belgian blonde type, i miss this style being a thing, and this is a nice throwback, summery and bold at the same time, the yeast is generic to me and run warm enough to approach dominant, but the hops are tasty in here, and the two elements strike a unique balance. this drinks pretty robust, like it could be 8% abv or more, not because its boozy, but because its sweet and full and long and has a lot going on. golden to brassy colored, close to clear, fine looking white head but a little short of true belgian status, not as airy and peaky, nor as lasting. the nose on this is clover honey, valencia orange, lemongrass, metallic type minerals, light lemon dish soap character, cilantro, white wine, and some vibrant herbal hop character too, some dankness, some spice, really dynamic. the flavor follows, nice and fresh for one, and i like the hop bitterness as set against the sweet belgian base. i think the hops are well selected to pair with this yeast, some pine, some resin, some peppery character, white wine fruitiness, really nice. it lingers a bit, has some bitterness, and warms up fairly aggressive, but the flavors are good and it reminds me of when the white ipa had its moment in the sun. not the best or most interesting take ive ever encountered, but id drink a pint of this any day...

Another very hazy beer from Salmon River over the weekend.. Hazed golden, no retention or cap from the near nonexistent white head... served in a nice tulip.
Nose is good hoppiness with a bubblegum phenolic note... interesting... Pretty decent.
Flavor is tasty and surprisingly refreshing... nice bitterness with the Belgian influence going down the right direction, but the bubblegummy notes are a bit much and there is a background phenolic element that makes me think of Band-Aids (not necessarily a bad thing with this style, but seems a bit much and distracting).
Nice body and bubble...
Salmon River is doing hops right... but need to get their yeasts under control.
