Pours a pale copper amber with 1/4" of soapy, bubbly head. Earthy, piny, grassy hop aromas in the nose. Nice, bready malt character with pine and citrus fruit notes from the hops. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and refreshing with moderate carbonation.
This is a nice IPA with a decent hop character and a solid malt character. At times it's a little unbalanced, but overall it's tasty.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a mug glass.
A: The beer is a bright amber color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick but spotty lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains floral hops, citrus and caramelized malts.
T: The taste starts out with sweet flavors of citrus and caramel. Then a strong but not over-powering hops bitterness comes in. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy; however there isn’t the same kind of balance you get from the better beer in the style. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: A little crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, decent representation of style, it’s a solid beer but there are several other IPA’s that I would select before this one.

$6.99 bomber from Rutherford Wine.
Dull copper body, excellent clarity. Three fingers of highly whipped snow white foam. Drippy random lace.
Light citric orange nose. Needs a deep sniff.
Dulled semi-sweet caramel begins the taste. Slight fruit. Bitter bite at swallow and a tingle follows. No highlights, all sorta dull.
Medium mouthfeel is satisfactory.
Nothing really wrong, but nothing really interesting. Best thing is the picture of the dog on the label. Pass.

A: Hopyard pours a dirty orange with a translucent nature. Within lies a light and lazy display of carbonation, on top a creamy light tan head that was foamy, stayed a bit, and left only a modest calling card on the vessel for lace.
S: Faint hoppiness, sweet caramel, orange blossom, and dried vegetation. Not even pale ale strength here much less ipa with an aroma of dried weeds.
T: Lemony-pine hops mix with a sweet caramel grain touch upfront. Buttered crossiant with some floral notes appear in the middle. Hopped well for an ipa, just it seems like a mesh-mash flavor wise, not clearly defined, homogenous and just not very tasty. Grapefruit caramel jucie sweetness ends with a dry and bitter flowery vegetative finish.
M: Medium body, creamy textured, softly carbonated.
O: Not very tasty over-all. Lacks crispness and the hop palate is a wreck, everything clashing into a muddled mess. Hopyard dog is a junkyard dog with a dirty flavor, mutt hop complexity and lacks a clear defined flavor that will make me never consider buying this again. Avoid.

Appearance: pours a clear orange color with a one finger head. Some mild lacing develops during the session.
Smell: some floral and earthy hop bitterness rises from the glass.
Taste: caramel, orange, some pear, a bit of earthy tones, and a decent bitterness create a well balanced IPA.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Lightly crisp from start to finish. Short lasting aftertaste.
Overall: an easy to drink IPA that is tasty and is refreshing. Worthy of a try.

A: golden with orange hues
S:subdued but appealing grapefruit, tangerine. maltiness also evident.
T: big rich, fresh, complete and balanced right through to the end. Bitterness nicely supports not dominates. Hops and malt integrate nicely. Alcohol is 7.2% which is usually too high for my taste but I'm surprised how well it fits with this beer.
M: fresh, full
O: a very nice IPA that I would certainly buy again. I'll look to try it on tap to compare.

Fine, hazy light tangerine look with a solid head. Smells very nice with an abundance of bright herbs and fruit. Taste is intense. An absolute hop bomb with an almost intolerable bitterness on the finish, but the opening grassy/orange hop and malt combo is on point.
For my taste, simply to much power with bittering hops. I was struggling to get through the bomber, and simply did not find the experience reasonable. In the grand scheme of hop bombs, though, the flavor of this one is pleasant and grassy-orangy, but this simply is not my kind of IPA.
