Health food market with a good beer selection in the back. Luckily, for me, I go in here usually knowing what I'm looking for as if you're going to look for someone to help you with the beer selection, good luck - every time I've been in here, no one has ever helped me. I only go back when in the area and if I'm looking for something that I can't find elsewhere. If you're place tickin,' sure give it shot but I wouldn't go out of my way to check this place out.

Healthy Living Market & Café is kind of like a Whole Foods. They've got a great selection of items, including beer and wine. It's not the best selection in Vermont, that's over at Beverage Warehouse in Winooski, but it's not the worse either. While I was there on my last trip I just happened upon a U-frame cart of the Alchemist's Heady Topper. I also picked up a seasonal release from Queen City, a 4-pk of Lost Nation's Mosaic IPA, and a bottle of Rodenbach Vintage for my wife. They don't play around with prices as some of the liquor stores do because they're a market; and you can grab all kinds of other gourmet food items while you're there.

This is a grocery store, not a beer store. Not a large beer selection, but they do have a nice variety of local stuff, including Heady Topper. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Not a beer store, does not have a big beer selection, but they do get regular deliveries of Heady. I picked up my first ever case of Heady from this place so it has a special place in my liver.

I was torn as to whether this store is deserving of a 3.75 or a 4. On the one hand it is not a beer store and only has a little section of the coolers dedicated to it. However, on the other hand they have a great selection of local and national beers to appeal to just about anyone (despite size). And it is NOT a beer store. So there you go.
I've only been there a couple times, but the first time I got some HT and the second time I was able to get a couple other locals I had never tried.
Both times they were in the process of rotating out bottles so it obviously sells pretty quick and stays fresh.
Not the end-all-be-all, but excellent for what it is.

This is my neighborhood store, and closest spot for a six pack. They have a fair amount of selection and you can usually find something pretty good, including weekly supplies of Heady Topper, even available in full cases. A fair amount of bombers are available as well, and have a dedicated place for gluten free beer offerings.

Just a mile or two from the UVM campus, A natural foods market in Burlington, VT...this is gonna be interesting...what it is is a whole foods wanna be...not as big, not as extensive selections..but wholesome, pleasant to be in, loaded with local, healthy, artisanal products, like seemingly everywhere else in Vermont that is interested in good food, local ingredients, healthy food and lifestyles... I like Vermont...oh the beer? not bad, nothing amazing here, moderate selection...expect the usual locals including a bunch of Rock Art bombers for under $4 a bottle, nice. Dont go specially for the beer, Winosookie's great bottle shop is the place for that, but do go if in the area for some local cheese, veggies, fruit etc and some local, fresh Vermont brewery offerings.

For the area this is a pretty extensive natural food store. They really try to carry as much local products as possible.

Even when they were at their prior locations they tried to carry beers like Wolavers Organics and gluten free beers. The present selection has grown quite a bit. they now carry a reasonable selection of local, national and imported beer.

Price seems to be close to average. I rarely see anyone I would consider the "beer guy" if I have any questions.

One really nice feature for me it they have an incredible cheese department less that 50' from the beer aisle. I can not think of a better place to put it.

Unless you want to do a beer and cheese pairing, I would not go out of my way to find this place just for beer.

This is another healthfoods store in the greater Burlington area, they have a pretty big selection of craft beer and wine. They have a lot of bombers and other large single bottles from all over the place including some higher end ones like Allagash and Chimay. They get some rarer seasonals (I picked up Dogfish Head Black & Blue a few weeks ago there) and they have the full selection of Unibroue beers which is awesome as well!

As far as the rest of the sore goes, they have all sorts of organic, natural and local stuff as you'd expect from this type of store. Their prices are decent but still a little more expensive than a regular supermarket, although the beer prices are fairly standard.

Last weekend we came to Burlington and i saw this place so i ducked in quick to see what it was about.

Another health food store à la Whole Foods. Beer selection is all refrigerated from what i could tell. Selection is better than City Market IMO. Lots of Smuttynose, Ommegang (i think they had Ommegeddon) plus lots of imports. Nothing to get too excited about but fairly decent.

Service-wise there was a guy around the section answering questions but i didn't have time to talk really. They had ratebeer shelf tags which means that the beer guy knows a little about craft/import beer is. I didn't ask but i don't think they break up 6 or 12 packs as i didn't see any loose ones.

Prices i didn't pay too much attention but seemed to be in line with grocery store prices.

All in all, a decent place but i really don't like to do my beer shopping at these places. Still, i think it's better than City Market.
