Wilhagen's is a very popular bar in Tuscaloosa. It's always full of people, and packed on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The food is great for a local sports bar, and I've never had a problem with the service.

The atmosphere can vary wildly. It is a sports bar, after all. I love going on weeknights, but can't stand the place on weekends when they're busy.

On Wednesday, they have $2 pint night with a number of pretty good beers all for two dollars. Some of them are great, some are average, but they're all $2.

Great spot in Tuscaloosa. Great selection of beers on tap. By far the best that I have found in the area. The staff is very knowledgable. There are a good variety of local brews and the more popular micro selections. It's a bar for all occasions. You have the sports option, the great taps and the food is on par for the atmosphere. It's located in a up and coming old industrial section that has other beer bars within a easy stroll. A must stop for good taps heads and good friendly atmosphere.Park your car and stop by then take a short stroll around the corner.

Wilhagan's is a nice local spot with a surprisingly good beer selection. The atmosphere is typical sports bar, nothing special. They have a wide variety of beers on tap, but with few high gravity brews. Wednesday nights they have 20 beers on tap for $2 a pint, which is a great deal. Some of it is the normal macrobrews, but you can also get local stuff like Good People Brown Ale.

Their food is typical bar food, done well. I can highly recommend the wings and burgers. Prices on the food and beer are very reasonable. Just a warning, on gamedays this place will be packed. If that's not your scene, then avoid this bar. Otherwise it's a great place to knock back some pitchers along with a burger or some wings.

Great place to drink in Tuscaloosa. The food is excellent. The wings are really excellent, and the burgers are top notch. The pork shank is also really amazing - not something you'd expect to find in a sports bar.

The beer selection is very nice- they have 20+ taps, and a ton more bottles. They've done a nice job getting some of the newer offerings to the state.

They also always have a $2 beer - and it's nearly always craft (sometimes it's a craft impostor - I'm looking at you, Blue Moon Wheat IPA). If you can step in there and get a Widmer Rotator IPA, a Great Divide DPA or a Leffe Blonde for $2, that's pretty darned swell.

The servers are always great - although they are not beer experts by their own admission.

If Alabama is on TV, it'll be packed with fans enjoying the game, and it's a great atmosphere. Great place to drink in Tuscaloosa.

Everything about this bar is good except for the bartenders service. The waitresses are great the food and beer selection is awesome. Their bartenders make you feel as if you are an inconvenience to them IMO. Your sitting at the bar one would think tend to me don't just wait on me to beg for a beer. Work the bar and patrons. That being said the selection is tops in town and they are rather reasonably priced. They can afford to be a tad higher do to being in a college town. Oh I spent how much on mom and dads card last night? Other than the bartenders who have been that way too a lot of people I know. Get a waitress to get your beer and you'll love this place. Try the New Orleans burger WOW

As a student at UA and as a lover of beer, I am in love with Wilhagan's.

My group of friends all go there every Wednesday night for $2 pint night. They have a very good selection on their $2 list including but not limited to: Guinness, UFO, Terrapin Rye, Spaten Optimator, Bass, Harp, Sierra Nevada Pale, Blue Moon, Smithwick's and a few others.

The rest of their beer selection is also very decent and the menu for said beer gives you the type of beer, where its from, alcohol % and price. You just can't beat Wilhagan's in Tuscaloosa.

This place certainly has the largest and best selection of beer available on draft in Tuscaloosa and is probably in the top 5 or 6 bars for the entire state. Went here with 6 or 7 friends on a Friday afternoon. Typical sportsbar inside -- watched some of the SEC basketball tournament.

They have 20+ draft lines and all but 3 or 4 of them seem to be dedicated to craft or good quality import beers. Just to name a few that I remember offhand: Delirium Tremens, La Fin du Monde, Chimay White, Weinstephaner Weiss, Left Hand Imperial Stout. I had two pints while here: an Ommegang Hennepin & a Bell's Two-Hearted Ale. Both were served in appropriate glassware (as was all their beer I saw -- I saw pint glasses, goblets, tulips, pilsner glasses & weiss glasses all being used for the right beers!). Only minor serving issue was that I had to ask to have my Hennepin to not be served in a frozen glass. The bartender recovered quickly & gave me the glass I wanted. Overall, an excellent experience. Great beers that are served well for very good prices. (I paid ~$5 for each pint.) I'll be back!

I frequent this bar quite often and would highly recommend it if you are visiting or new to the town. The mood is relaxed and there is a nice open sitting area with plenty of tables and a long bar. My only problem with this place is that the drafts don't change, not that it has a bad selection, but variety is good sometimes and also no live music, standard mid-90's rock mostly. Will have to say the bar next door, which is owned by the same owner has awesome jazz and blues going, and you can carry your beer over there.

The service is fair with more of the bartenders seeming to know their stuff as opposed to the servers. The food is your standard pub fare, but great lunch in the daytime.

Also, your not having to play beer lottery when ordering a beer and not knowing the price, they have a well marked beer menu with prices included and nicely categorized.

Wilhagan's is a great place to visit when in Tuscaloosa. They have a daily special called Pint on the Patio where they offer half price pints of draft beer along with a free basket of chips and salsa from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The staff there seems to be improving on their knowledge of beers as this has been an issue due to the new influx of beers thanks to Free The Hops working so hard to get the law changed. They have several televisions to watch as they are a sports bar. Smoking is not allowed inside until 10 p.m. due to City Ordinance, but smoking is always allowed on the patio. They also have a new 100 inch Wii system that you can rent along with pool tables and dart boards.
