From the 12 fl. oz. can. Sampled on June 1, 2018.

It pours a slightly foggy, heady, straw yellow color with average clarity.

Big aroma of herbal notes, white bread, fruit perhaps, but it is not dated and it feels like it is past date.

Medium, mildly smooth body.

The herbal, tobacco characters play up big in the taste but it feels like it might have been clean and crisp in the finish some weeks ago. I think I had an old can.

Bright gold and bubbly. Not much of a head.
Sweet malt aroma. Corn. Not too much in the aroma.
A little caramel, a little corn in the taste.
Light-bodied, better than drinking water.

12 oz can>mug

A bright, yellow-gold color, plenty of carbonation to form a formiddable froth covering.

A very nice, sweet corn and caramel aroma to the malt. Mostly herbal hops, maybe just a hint of citrus sweet fruits. Some sour bready aroma from the malt later on.

A very light feel, crisp and easy breazy. Some mild but slick malt sludes down last.

The malt really steals the show, flavor-wise. The malt is very complex with lager-ish taste, sweet corn, grains, sour bready effect but very clean. The hops seem to only provide an enhancement in herbal flavor. The hops are very mild in taste and kinda throws of the classic balance of flavor for the style. A bit more hop charecter would do this beer wonders.

Meant to be an easy, all day drinker, it certainly achieves that.

Can. Pours much lighter than expected. I was anticipating an amber colored, traditional-looking pale ale. Very light head. There is almost no aroma to speak of. Legitimately nearing zero hop influence here. Honey malt. Glazed doughnut malt. The flavor is just a lick hoppier. It doesn't need to be a hop bomb but I should be able to detect more than what is here. It's much more of a blonde ale. The body is sneakily heavy; I was expecting it to be quite light like the flavor. The flavor isn't terrible or offensive but its blandness is borderline infuriating. Also, not digging the Boston themed mix pack.

Poured from a 12oz can into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light gold color with a medium white head that fades quickly and leaves a spotty lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is faint but contains caramelized malts, some hops and some citrus.

T: The taste starts out with some very mild sweetness from flavors of citrus and caramel. Then a very weak hops bitterness comes in. The malt character is thin and brings a little bit of balance. The after-taste is slightly bready.

M: Crisp and a little smooth but quite watery, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Not very flavorful, goes down ok, not too filling, very mild kick, not the best representation of style, this is not a very good beer.

Hey, first to rate and I'm glad I've got something nice to say. This APA is on the mild side. It has a great mouthfeel and finishes really clean. Right now, I think Wachusett BC has hit a new peak. All four beers from the variety pack are super clean and good drinking. This is one of them. Larry is too and we all like Larry.

Anyhow, it works well in the spectrum of Wachusett's beers. This is milder than the IPA, which is lighter than Larry. So, in a relative sense of what they're brewing, this APA here: it makes sense. Good stuff.
