On tap at The Fours, Quincy, MA.

Served in a pint glass with actual blueberries thrown in.

Head was a frothy and lasting half an inch. It stayed almost the entire time I drank it, and was tasty.

I realize this beer is not generally reviewed well. I was even told by skettyroad that I've had it before and didn't like it.

Well, in the environment I was in, I did enjoy it. It was a light lager with a definite blueberry "tinge". Smelled predominantly like blueberry bagel. Although the blueberries were not as organic to the beer as Bluepaw, it still worked for me.

Enjoyable enough for me to order with my dinner two nights later.

Bottle (2011)

A clear golden yellow with a quickly forming white head and plenty of visible carbonation. Falls away quickly but leaves nice lacing down the glass.

Aromas of fresh blueberries and some mild grain. Simple, sweet, and fresh.

Taste follows the nose as this tastes more like fresh blueberries than it does of any hop or malt character. As a fan of blueberries, I'm fine with this, but it's not much more than blueberry sweetness and a hint of bready grains to go along with it. Simpe, sweet.

Pleasant enough, a touch syrupy, but good carbonation.

A simple and sweet blueberry treat. I couldn't drink more than one, but it's certainly tasty and the blueberry flavor seems authentic and fresh. A pleasure to drink one, but I wouldn't think of having more than that.

I bought this more for the lady of the house and then she impressed me by not being particularly impressed by it. Still we both agree it's fully drinkable and wouldn't hesitate to have one.

Poured a 2" head which fully dissipated. Pretty substantial smell of blueberries, less so in the taste but I suppose that's a good thing because it's beer and not a blueberry smoothy. Note it's not brewed with the blueberries, the berry flavor is added separately. Anyway, this is like a standard pale ale with a little fruit adulteration.

12 ounce bottle, w/o freshness/best before info being available.

Pours light golden amber, clear, minor head, no collar and no lace....meh..

I'm just getting a slight sugary sensation on the nose.

Light, near flavorless brew. Perhaps a slight fruity note..if I close my eyes and imagine, I do get the taste of a blueberry, but perhaps...ah whatever, this is thin, lacking any and all interest and intrigue...expensive lawn mower beer is the best I can come up with...pass this one by.

Kevin hooked me up with this one as spoils from his wedding. Thanks! Poured into a pint glass. Pour is clear light yellow with a thin fizzy white head. I could smell blueberry immediately when I opened the bottle. It's as if I released trapped blueberries! Now that I've put it in the glass I can hardly smell it. I get a faint aroma of blueberry with pale malts and grains. Ugh! I did not enjoy that first sip. It reminds me of a pale macro with a forced blueberry flavor. which is way to sweet. It's kind of sickeningly sweet. This is what I would imagine blue play dough to taste like. The real struggle with this for me is that I can't else other than a weak blueberry flavor followed by sticky sweetness. The mouth feel isn't bad. It's light, but the flavors ruin this for me.

I said I wanted 'local' and, boy, did charliedvrs deliver! Another NEW New England beer, this one particularly appealing because of my own penchant for the Oregon berry bounty we've been devouring for weeks on end. This bottle (my first from Wachusett) is 12 oz. and pours to a pint. 'For Freshest Taste' month notched at 'OCT'.

A: Kinda weird looking, a paler-than-pale 'golden' with the finest haze, just enough to distort my fingers through the glass. A pillow of snow white cream barely contains the fastest cascade of bubbles these eyes have witnessed in a long while. Eventually they slow a little and the head retains nicely. Fine, sheeting lace.

S: The initial puff of air from beneath the cap screamed 'blueberries!', which kinda got me excited about what was to come. Into the glass it went and I wondered where my aroma went; hardly a trace of fruit (any variety). Mostly a bland yeastiness that isn't awful - but without any blueberry smell, why am I drinking a fruit beer named after them?

T: Flavor offers up a glimmer of fruit amidst (once again) dominant doughy/yeasty malt. There may be 'Natural Blueberry Flavor' (per the label), but frankly I'm not finding much of it. Hardly hopped in any substantial way, which means I'm left with a boring, weakly-flavored 'something'. A disappointment, I suppose.

M: Crisp to start, but then a 'macro'/adjunct grainy grit that sticks like glue on the tongue. Slick and viscous coating, Light-medium body. Meh.

D: Refreshing and light, two pluses for drinkability, but then a whole slew of negatives, from aroma to flavor to texture. I love trying new and interesting beer creations, but this just wasn't for me. Yes, I was warned this wasn't his favorite by the kind-hearted sender, but I asked and received...I did finish the bottle, which is saying something.

Thanks again, Charlie, and thanks also for the 'Larry' bottle - a second opportunity to try something from this brewery.

My first ever fruit beer!

Very light yellow. White head.

Smells like, well, blueberries with a mild yeast aroma.

Flavor is blueberry as well, but somehow artificial.

Very drinkable, but not sure I could really drink a LOT of this beer over the course of the night.

The pour revealed a clear, thin straw colored beer with a Pillsbury blueberry muffin aroma. The taste reminds me of commercial blueberry muffin mix and I am not sure if that is a bad thing or a good thing, however it is a finishes with a crisp note and I could drink a few of these at a BBQ if the weather was hot and the craft selection was lacking. Overall, this is a decent offering, nothing to write home about but a good intro beer for BMC drinkers that are resistant to expanding their horizons in the great land of beer.

Crystal clear light gold colour with a short white cap of moderately sized bubbles. Decent head retention with a bit of short-lived lace. Strong blueberry aroma with a bit of malt, kind of reminds me of blueberry pancakes or dried blueberries with cereal. Tastes about the same, but with mild bitterness as well. Carbonation would have been rough if it was higher, but since it was on the low side it had a soft texture. Light bodied. I enjoyed this. It was fruity without being cloying and fairly refreshing.

I do enjoy my wheat beers, especially during the summer months. However, there few fruit infused wheat beers that I find enjoyable.

Pours a clear pale white gold color with minimal head. What head there is forms a ring. Small amount of lacing.

Blueberry scent is apparent. Reminds me of blueberry pancakes or muffins.

Blueberry flavor is also obviously present. Still reminded off muffins, on the fence whether this is good or bad. Blueberry taste lingers a while. Feels slightly over carbonated, which interferes with the taste.

Not a bad blueberry wheat beer, but not the greatest I have tried. Smooth and good for a few on the patio.

Appearance: Very light and thin amber/wheat colour. Translucent. Thin head, pretty carbonated.

Smell: Much blueberries, almost instantly when poured into a pint glass.

Taste: Very slight hint of blueberries, definitely not as much as found in the smell. There is a slight bitterness to the aftertaste, maybe a little bit of hops.

Mouthfeel: Very clean, light, and refreshing. There is a decent amount of carbonation that lingers.

Drinkability: Definitely drinkable. This was consumed at room temperature, may be tastier and more refreshing at a cooler temperature. Would be great during the warmer part of the year.

On tap at The Lark, East Northport, New York.

Poured a dark straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured a full on blueberry muffin.

The taste consisted of upfront blueberries with a light malt and a lingering sweetness.

The mouthfeel was typical of the style.

Overall a tasty but overly sweet ale.

A-pours an extremely pale straw color with bubbles rising to the top. The head is thinner and bubbly, white in color leaving some thin lace on the side of the glass

S-tons of blueberry concentrate explode in the nose. Nothing else really happening.

T-blueberry right up front and it dominates the flavor. There is a light floral hop presence in the back. Tons of sweetness and not much else

M-smooth on the palate with tons of carbonation and a prickly crisp finish. Light body and soft.

D-this is so sweet it would be hard to drink a lot of them and it is quite one dimesional just offering a blueberry explosion. Not done horribly and can definitely drink this.

Appearance: clear, gold in color, high carbonation, one inch head

Smell: blueberries

Taste: semi-sweet blueberries and a touch of grass

Mouthfeel: light bodied, high carbonation, crisp, sweet

Drinkability: One of my two favorite blueberry beers out there. I could have a six. Super sessionable. The blueberry taste does not seem artificial.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into Shipyard Pumpkinhead pint glass.

The color is a yellowish light gold, clear with some good carbonation and a finger of white foamy that dissipates quickly.

The smell is sweet with some blueberry and nice malt flavor with a touch of light spice aroma, a hint of cinnamon or sugar.

The taste is a bit spiciness with some nice sweet malt flavor. The taste of blueberry is nice but does taste a little off. Some slight bitterness does come out in the back end of each sip but is washed away with a thin water flavor.

The feel of this beer is quit light and well balanced. A fruity beer that is not too fruit flavored. This beer does have a really light, drinkable feel which is a plus.

Pours a light yellow color with a slight head and no lacing. The smell is of blueberries up front there is a little grain smell in the back. The overall taste is of sweet malt and mostly blueberries, however, the blueberry taste is not overpowering or artificial in flavor. The mouthfeel is moderately carbonated and crisp. Overall the drinkability on this one is very high, it is an easy drink beer with some complexity, very refreshing on a hot day.

On-tap at The Ale House in Vestal.

Appearance: Lighter golden fizzy yellow with not a lot of lacing and fairly indistinguishable overall.

Smell: Blueberry syrup and doughy pancake. Or, maybe I'm imagining the doughy pancake, and all I get is the blueberry dark syrup aromas. Still decent, and the aromatic nature overcomes the sugary feigned syrupy nature.

Taste: Like many fruit beers, this is way too sweet for me. Partly due to most likely the extract instead of real fruit. And partly due to catering this to a certain type of beer drinker. Blueberry syrup all the way through, and though interesting and tasty at first, it's tough to sip all the way.

Mouthfeel: Lighter to medium-bodied since it's sugary, with good bubbly carbonation.

Drinkability: Another one that's more miss than hit for me, though if fruit beers are your thing you may enjoy this. If not, however, I don't know if this will change your mind.

12oz bottle served in a standard pint glass. For Freshest Taste Enjoy By Dec notched on the label. Poured a pale, translucent yellow with a half-inch, loose white head that eventually settles into a solid skim. Some slashes of lacing revealed during the session. Nose was blueberries (duh) and a little peppery towards the back - not really getting a lot of sweetness off the nose (not a bad thing). Taste consistent with nose with some wheat qualities coming out towards the back. Mouthfeel is light and sparklingly effervescent, perhaps a little gassy, with a fairly clean and dry finish. This is probably one of the best blueberry beers I've had. Not too sweet, quite sessionable at 4.40% abv and fairly refreshing. Well worth your time.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. There is a best before the month of Oct. notched on the label.

Appearance: It has a pale yellow body with a slightly hazy appearance. The pour yields a tall bright white head that fades down to just a ring of bubbles. Lacing is slick and slides right down the glass.

Smell: The aroma has hits you with notes of blueberry as soon as the cap is popped off. Natural blueberry, grain and some mild spicy hops are all noticeable in the nose.

Taste/Mouth: The flavor is a copy of the aroma. There are light blueberry notes mixed into light pale grain and biscuit malt with a touch of spicy (peppery) hops. It finishes a little tangy and with some hops bitterness and spice. The palate has a light to medium body with some active, almost fizzy carbonation.

Notes: It has a decent blueberry flavor but it is just a little bit on the thin side. Still, its not bad at all and very refreshing.

Very mediocre blueberry ale. It pours a fairly light straw golden color, clear, thin looking, not a lot of head, but it does stick to the rim. No lacing, not much retention. The nose is very muted blueberry. It doesn't smell fresh, just muted and tad perfumey. There are some florals and some air freshner like aromas. This is an interesting nose, but not great.

The taste is pretty one dimensional. It tastes like very watery and sub standard ale with some blueberry flavoring added. It's refreshing, its easy to drink, it has some chemical and slightly metallic tinge to it, it does taste a bit overly processed. I think I'll give this one a miss.

pours a pale yellow color with a moderate white head that fades to a ring.
the aroma is of sweet blueberry, nothing else.
the flavor is dominated by blueberry also. there are touches of grainy malt mid-tongue, and maybe just after that the faintest whisper of and hebral/citrus hop flavor. the aftertaste is again dominated by blueberry. it's not sticky sweet or anything, just pervasive. mostly realistic blueberry flavor.
the mouthfeel is a little thin, with fairly active carbonation.
the drinkability is good. it's refreshing, and tasty. something easy for a warm day.

Pours a straw yellow color. Not much head or lacing, pretty carbonated. Smell of hops and slight sweet blueberry. Not an overpowering blueberry odor, doesn't mask the rest of the ingredients. Same with the flavor, a little blueberry flavor, but also taste of hops and malt. Not a great blueberry taste, very very mild. Needs to be a little stronger for me to enjoy this as a true blueberry ale. But very drinkible, and not bad for a hot summer day.

Clear, dark straw color. Fizzy white head with struggling lace and retention.

Smells of blueberries and with juicy hop backing. Not horribly artificial like many blueberry beers.

Tastes of blueberries and light malt. The Juicey Fruit hops from Wachusetts IPA make an appearance here, albiet much milder. Blueberry flavor fairly reserved and favorable to drinking multiples. Medium body and crisp mouthfeel.

The archetypical blueberry beer IMO. I was a gateway beer for me so I am unabashedly biased.

Pours a pale golden color with a one-finger head into my pint glass.

Aroma has a nice amount of blueberry in the nose. It's also a bit floral as well. Smells like a wheat beer underneath.

Taste starts out with a nice touch of blueberry that is followed by grainy wheat malt afterward. Smooth and blueberry isn't cloying.

Mouthfeel is full of the lingering blueberry and wheat malt flavors. Smooth and easy to drink. Goes down good.

Not bad. Feels just right when it comes to the blueberry as it doesn't overwhelm the rest of the beer. It's light and crisp and nice for a hot summer day.
